"Todoroki...I like you. More than a friend. M-more than I should, actually!" Tenya spoke to his reflection, blushing with sheer embarrassment, "No no, try again." He scolded himself.
He sucked in a deep breath and made eye contact with himself, beginning to speak once more, "Todoroki, I think I am in love with you. I have been for quite some time and...and..." He trailed off, frustration bubbling deep inside him, "Dammit, no." He cursed silently, covering his face.
This would never work. If Iida couldn't confess feelings to his own reflection in the bathroom, what made him think that confessing to Todoroki would be easy? He sighed heavily and slipped his glasses back onto his face, making his way out of the rather small bathroom. He would go to Shoto's dorm and confess there. The two would be alone. Secluded. Free of prying eyes or eavesdropping ears.
His steps felt heavier the closer he got to Todoroki's dorm. His heart was definitely beating faster now. He could hear his pulse pounding deep in his ears. They boy almost felt nauseous, as if he were about to vomit right in the hall. But despite his emotional state, the tall male held his head high and strode with absolute confidence and pride.
He was only a few footsteps from Shoto's dorm now. The boy Iida had admired for so long...was just beyond that door. Were his legs stiffer than usually? Did his hands always sweat this much? He swallowed the lump that began to grow in his throat and took a steady breath.
Tenya stopped in front of Todoroki's door, raising a slow hand to knock.
Three knocks was all it took to send Tenya's body into a state of pure fear. This was it. This was the moment Iida had been preparing for. It would take all the courage he could muster. The door knob jiggled and the door opened slowly. Iida was greeted with a sight he'd never quite witnessed before.
Shoto was dressed in dark, loose pants. Sweatpants to be precise. He wore a simple grey night shirt, which hung loosely off of one of his shoulders. His hair was slightly ruffled, several strands hanging in front of his face. He must have been in bed. A small pang of guilt his Iida, "Did I wake you?" He asked frantically, giving Shoto no time to say hello. The shorter boy shook his head and yawned, rubbing his still-tired eyes, "Yes, but it's fine, Iida." He mumbled, looking up to meet Tenya's blue gaze, "Did you need something?"
Iida drew in a deep breath of air, his heart pounding against his ribcage.
"I have something to confess."
