He wasn't always like this, you know.
The first couple months, he was so sweet and caring. After a while, he started to become more and more aggressive towards me.
I hated it but anytime I tried to confront him on it, he'd get upset. Then one dreadful day, he found out his mom died and engulfed his feelings in alcohol.
That's when the beatings started. He took out his pain on me.
Whenever I tried to tell him off, he beat me. I even tried running away once.
He tracked me down and beat me so severely that I was in the hospital for a month.
He told everyone that I "fell down the stairs".
Thinking back on all the old memories brings tears to my eyes. As I lie there, crying, I slowly drift off and fall asleep.
