"Kelly, I really don't think this is a good idea!"
"Oh come on, what's the worst that could happen!?"
That's just what I was afraid of...
~ 3 Days Earlier ~
"HaHaHaHa"
Groan
"HaHaHaHaHaHa!"
I was going to kill her.
"Mhmm.... HaHaHa!!"
"Kelly!" I screamed at my best friend while my head was shoved deep into my soft, green cased pillow. The scream came out muffled but she could still hear me.
"What!?"
"I swear to God if you don't stop with that mother fucking girly laugh, the police are going to find a pillow to be the murder weapon. And I'm not going to remind you more than once that I don't look good in orange!" I looked up to find her sprawled out in the middle of my bedroom floor with her nose stuck in her phone. Junk food surrounded her in such a fortress that was sure to lead to a sugary induced coma.
Kelly was my best friend. She had been ever since I could remember, we were practically sisters.
She had bright fiery engine red hair, blue eyes and a perky little nose. She may look weak in her small 5'2 frame but trust me, you didn't want to piss her off.
She just giggled again and looked up at me with a strawberry pocky stick hanging lazily out of her mouth.
"Sorry, its just this guy I'm talking to. He's sooo funny!"
"Mhmm." I shoved my head back into my pillow.
" He wants to know if we want to go to a party."
The pillow muffled my scream again."Maforootmmy not!"
"Aww why not?"
I heaved a giant sigh, propped myself up on my elbows and looked down at her pouty face.
"Because, A- I don't like parties. Too many people drinking, smoking, doing drugs and having sex. Not my scene. B- You young lady are still under house arrest from last weeks little escapade. You know. when you put Nair in your brothers hair dye bottle. Remember that?"
She giggled.
"And C-" I continued. "I don't even know the guy so it would be awkward. You know how much of a social hermit I am... I hate people. And did I mention that I don't like parties!?"
Her phone went off again followed by that annoying laughter.
I was talking to a wall.
As if reading my mind she set her phone down and looked up at me.
"Kassidy... You, acting like this..." She pause to shake her head. "It just isn't healthy."
I swallowed.
"What are you talking about?"
"I'm talking about you and Jaden breaking up for the one millienth time and you going into Zombie mode. You don't hang out anymore, you don't go to the movies to see what "Them Hollywood people call entertainment."
She mimicked me perfectly and I couldn't help but chuckle a little. She was done though.
"You're hardly sleeping, don't think I don't notice those dark circles. You don't eat enough either. Hell the only thing you DO still do is dance. But evenbthats bad because you're losing to much weight. It has to stop Kassidy, you're going to end up in the hospital if you don't pull it together. Or worse...."
I looked down at my blue tipped finger nails through bleary vision before speaking up.
"I am pulling it together. Jaden and I are through... old news. History."
Three years I stood by his side. A heart can only take so much before there's nothing left to give. I thought to myself. I had to save what little of it was left before it completely shattered.
"I know you guys are. Out of all the times you guys broke up... its never been this bad with you."
"I'm fine..."
"That's a lie and you know it. Where's my best friend Kassidy? Because the best friend I know wouldn't be holed up in her room hiding from the world. She'd be out laughing, having fun. Being her normal random dorky self. She'd be living. You used to be warm and loving. Someone everyone turned to. You used to be everyone's fucking little ball of Sunshine. Now you're just a cold, lifeless and empty shell."
Ouch But I knew every she said was the God damn truth.
I quickly wiped away the stream of tears running down my cheeks and gave my best attempt to smile at her before asking with a shaky voice.
"When do we leave?"
