Elton trudged home, Corey beside him while holding the baby.
Elton scowled at both of them, fixing the backpack strap that was over one shoulder.
"Can I ask you something?" Elton said.
Corey looked at him, nodding.
"How do we take the batteries out of it?" Elton asked.
Corey rolled his eyes as Elton smirked.
"Can I ask something?" Corey said.
"Yeah, whatever." Elton shrugged.
"Why do we hate each other?"
Elton bit the inside of his cheek.
"You started dating Devyn in 8th grade and she always made dun of me since 4th grade. I stopped hanging out with you and you got angry. Then I got angry. We got in that big fight and always bickered." Elton said, mumbling.
Corey nodded.
"You know I'm not seeing her anymore, we can be friends again." Corey said.
"Yeah, not after she called Heath and I faggots and you defended her, and all the shit you two said..." Elton said under his breath
"I- what?" Corey said.
Elton didn't answer, he just turned down the street to his house, leaving Corey dumbfounded.
"Elton!" Corey shouted.
Elton kept walking.
Heath and Elton had been friends since kindergarten, inseparable.
When Devyn moved into the same town as them, she started teasing them when she figured out what being gay was.
Her family were very religious, so she had some nasty things to say about them.
The thing is, when Elton and Heath hugged each other on the very last day of school, the last time Elton would see Heath due to Heath moving out to Florida, Devyn called them even worse thing.
That was the last time Elton saw his only real best friend.
Corey hadn't know the full story, only that Elton and Devyn were in a fight for unknown reasons.
So, of course Corey had to defend his at the time girlfriend.
Elton never wanted to see Corey after that and the nasty things the both of them said to him.
Corey sighed.
He walked to his house with the baby.
"This project is going to be hell" He thought to himself.
