Frost lead me outside, where the full moon shone across the burnt fields.

The full moon. So beautiful.

"Close your eyes, Luna. I have a surprise." I hesitated, but closed my purple eyes. Frost set his hands gently on my shoulders, leading me further into the field. I smiled curiously, wondering what Frost was doing, especially so close to the time for us to leave.

Frost finally let go after a few seconds.

"Wait there. I need to make sure everything's perfect." I was so confused, but I stayed where I was with my eyes closed. I heard Frost moving something behind me, and then heard him in front of me.

"Okay, Luna. Ready?" I nodded. "Three...two...one...OPEN!" My eyes flew open, and I gasped.

Dark lavender roses surrounded me. Thousands and thousands of these roses stretched all around me. The moon was so close I could almost touch it. The sky was filled with stars and stars and stars, seeming to continue on forever. Thousands of lightning bugs illuminated the field, flashing their small lights.

"Frost...where are we?" Frost came from behind me and interlocked fingers.

"I found this field two nights ago while you were asleep and I was out looking for food. I knew that you were really stressed about everything, as am I. I thought we could have some fun, and I knew you would love the full moon and roses." I hugged Frost tightly, standing on my tiptoes.

"Thank you so much. I love it! I'm sorry I didn't think of something like this before." Still holding hands, Frost twirled me through the roses, my white nightgown fanning around me. I laughed as Frost and I danced through the lightning bugs and spoke to the stars.

I could see the sun peeking into the night as Frost and I laid in the roses, naming all of the stars.

"Betelgeuse," I called pointing. "Oh, and Alpha Centauri System and Rigel." I turned to Frost, and his eyes were wide.

"Uh...I see the North Star." I laughed, twisting to see him better.

"You called that two times already, Frost!" I laughed, as did Frost.

"There must be multiple North Stars then. Plus, I'm never gonna win. You practically know every single star!" We both laughed until our sides hurt, the roses laughing along with us. We stayed like that, hand in hand, until the sun rose all the way.

The sun was up quick, the beautiful moon seeming to disappear suddenly. I always felt a sadness when I saw the moon leave. I've never liked the sun, for it was always getting into your eyes, burning your skin, and making everything too hot.

We laughed and talked as we made our way back to the stables.

I noticed how much Frost and I were free out of the castle. As much as I was sad my home was gone, I realized that home isn't a place, it's a feeling. And that feeling was with my best friend.

I had missed him so much when he left, I didn't realize how much it drilled a hole in my heart. Now that hole was filled, and was full of something new.

"Luna, are you ready?" Frost asked me when we got back. I nodded, taking a deep breath. We both had packed our things before to make sure we would be ready, and now we were. I was scared for all of the things that could happen, and I wanted to just stay in the stable with Frost forever.

We had packed food, canteens of water, extra clothes we had found, a compass Frost always kept on himself, the map of Selios, my star tracker, and weapons. I was taking a bow and arrows I had found, and Frost was taking a few knives he had found.
