After the Quagmire triplets went away in a hot air mobile home, the Baudelaires were worried that they would never see their friends, ( or to me future husband and wife's) again.

The Baudelaire's, after arriving at hotel Denouement, found numbers all over the place in every item in sight. They wondered if the Quagmires were somewhere in there. The man was wondering where they were headed. The children didn't need anyone to know they were in a mission, but also looking for their friends.
