Part-one

"Alani, please. I promise I won't make you do this ever again." I pleaded.

Well, you see my longtime friend of, well forever, doesn't want to go shopping with me.

Like who has to make their friends go shopping with them. I will never understand that girl.

The Alphas brother is coming back. He left to find his mate and found her eight years ago. They decided to live in her birth pack until recently. There's going to be a welcome home party for him later tonight, hence the reason we're going shopping.

After minutes of annoying her she gave in, with the exception of her driving. I was completely fine with that because I absolutely despise driving.

We arrived at the mall and let me just say some people really should not be behind the wheel.

"There are way too many people here." Alani said.

Looking around the parking lot I must say she was right. It was packed and it was only a Wednesday.

"That means we have to beat them to the good stuff let's go!" I screamed while dragging her out of the car.

"Let's make this quick, no excessive shopping." she said in stern tone.

"Sir yes sir" I replied back and ran before she could say anything else.

Alani sighed when we got into our ninth store. But I paid her no mind, I could just feel it. This was going to be the store. I immediately started sorting through the racks.

While scavenging I pulled out a beautiful black off the shoulder maxi dress. It was simple yet elegant. It was perfect.

I turned towards Alani and smiled. "This is the one." After looking for shoes to match the dress we ended up in the food court because according to Alani she wouldn't be able to drive properly without food in her system. We were laughing enjoying our food until a guy showed up.

"Hey beautiful."

How basic, but since I was bored, I decided to play along "Hey."

"I'm Noah."

"Xania. Pronounced (zuh•knee•ahh)." I said.
"Well Xania I know I'm not supposed to ask a lady her age, but I have be sure, how old are you?" He asked.

"22, and you?" I asked back. "23" he said smiling. A phone ringing interrupted our conversation. Noah looked at his phone and sighed.

"Sorry I have to go but here's my number, call me." he says while handing me a business card. He left immediately after.

Amari picked up the card. "An artist, girl if you don't call him" She said.

"Shut up! I don't know maybe." I slapped her arm playfully. I checked the time and saw it was four pm, so we started to head home.

When I got home, I went to my room.

I took a shower and shaved. Alani said to put my hair into a sleek back ponytail, and I can't lie it was nice. Then I put on my dress and added a few accessories. And you must not forget the perfume. When I was done, I headed downstairs.

Walking towards the stairs I saw my Alpha. I smiled, bowed in respect and muttered a silent Alpha.

"Wait, Xania, right?" He asked.
"Yes, Alpha Damien." I replied.
" Would you like me to walk you down."
"No Alpha, I'm fine."
"Nonsense, I'll walk you down." He said.

With that he walked me down the first flight of stairs. It was kind of awkward seeing as we rarely speak to each other. Our Alpha hasn't found our Luna yet. He's 33, I know he's losing hope. We really need a Luna, so I hope he finds her soon. We usually find our mates at the age of 16. I guess we were both late in the mate department.

"I haven't seen my brother is so long." he said.

"So you must be very excited."

"Very, between us though, even my wolf is stirring." he whispered to me. I smiled a little at his confession. They have a great sibling bond.

As we walked into the backyard where the party was being held the most delightful smell hit me. Suddenly my wolf started to seem on edge, more alert. Alpha Damien led us to a group of people. Once we got there, I saw two kids standing in the middle. It was a girl and a boy. The Alpha bent down and hugged them.

"Xania this is Ayden and Evelyn my niece and nephew." I bent down and smiled at them.
"Hi." I said. They replied with a soft hello. The scent intensified, I had to get a drink.
"Excuse me." I said to them.
I started walking but heard "Is she your girlfriend?"

I laughed a little but was brought back to the smell. What is it?

I started looking for Alani and my other best friend named Isaiah. I couldn't find them anywhere. I made my way back to Alpha Damien. My wolf kept on pacing back and forth in my mind.
'Stop Zara.' I told my wolf.
'Sorry.' She replied.
'Just take a deep breath .' I told her.

That seemed to calm her down just for a bit.
As soon as I started to pay attention to what the people around me were saying. Alpha Damien put his arm around me. Unexpected but I wasn't complaining.

"Let's welcome my baby brother back from the search of his mate." It got quiet, and as he said that a gorgeous thin brown-haired woman came walking out the door.

She connects eyes with the Alpha and they both whisper 'MATE'. She looked at me and growled a bit. He let go of me and walked towards her but stopped short.

Ayden and Evelyn ran towards her. " Mommy!" they both screamed and hugged her. Oh, my dear Jesus. Is this Jaysons 'mate'. A few seconds later a man walked out. He seemed tense. He was the most handsome man I've ever seen. What I would do to run my hands through his perfect hair and wait, where the hell did that come from. It must be the drinks. My wolf started to become uneasy again.

The man went next to the Alphas mate and kissed her oblivious to what's happening around him. No way, that's Jayson. I don't think I've ever seen the Alpha so angry. He started to shake. In a half second Jason was slammed onto the ground with a livid Alpha beating the life out of him. Something in me was screaming to go help him. My legs moved like they had a mind of their own. I started to call out to the Alpha.

"Alpha, please stop." I screamed.
I heard the kids screaming and crying.
"Please stop the kids are here and they shouldn't see this." He paid no mind to my pleas.

The girl next to me snapped out of her daze and walked over to him. She put her hand on his shoulder. He immediately started to calm down. He looked at her and hugged the girl. I stretched my hand out and looked at Jayson. He then grabbed my hand and looked me in the eyes. 'Mate' tingles spread through my body, and I panicked. I started to back away and stumbled. Everything went black after that.
