The group stepped out of the jet, they had landed about twenty miles from the base so as not to attract attention.
From there they would drive through the forest terrain
Tony sat in the drivers seat, Steve next to him and the rest crammed in the back
A feeling of tension lingered in the vehicle, on one quite sure what to expect when they reached the base
"Ok team, we need a plan" Steve said after a while of sitting there in silence
"We go in all guns blazing" tony said bluntly, without taking his eyes from the path
"We can't do that tony, we need a tactic" Steve reasoned
"Well I'm staying here and manning the comms unless someone says otherwise" Bruce piped up from the back
"Okay that's good" Steve turned so he was facing the people in the back
"I think we should go in groups from around the base, surround them and take them by surprise"
"Sounds good, what're the teams?" Natasha asked
"Me and Bucky, Natasha and Clint and Wanda and Tony?"
"Okay, me and Tony will go in through the sky" Wanda agreed
"Yup, and Bucky and me from the right, Natasha and Clint from the left" Steve finished
"Sounds like a plan" Clint sighed
"Now remember, this base has more security than any other we've ever encountered, so stay alert we don't want anyone getting hurt" Steve warned, turning back around to look out of the front window
The group shared solemn glances and fell back into silence
They were now about two miles from the base, supposedly concealed by trees,
Suddenly the forest seemed to come alive with the Sounds of explosions and gunshots, hitting every side of the van
"What the hell?!" Bucky Yelled
"So much for the element of surprise" Steve muttered
Tony pressed a few buttons and soon enough more explosion sound joined the rest, hitting agent after agent
"How did they find us?!" Bruce yelled
"Probable scouts or something! The point is our cover is blown, we need to get out now and take them down before they have more time to prepare!" Steve yelled over the sound of gunshot
"Wall integrity down to 62% sir" Jarvis' voice sounded through the van
"Shit" Tony muttered as he hit more and more buttons and sped along faster and faster
"Wall integrity down to 54% sir" Jarvis added
"There's too many of them, were trapped!" Wanda screamed
"Wall integrity down to 50% sir" Jarvis spoke again
"Yes I get it!" Tony yelled
He put his finger on a button on the dash and his iron suit built itself around him
He turned to the captain "I'll cover you!" He yelled and the section of ceiling above him opened up and he flew out
The group rushed to the window and watched in despair as Tony flew far above and rained down hell on the increasing number of HYDRA agents,
"Get out, now!" He called through the comms and everyone apart from Bruce scrambled out, he went to the drivers seat and sped away, into the cover of the trees, awaiting to see if he was needed
The group launched into attack mode, cutting down agent after agent and slowly making their way closer to the base
Eventually they came a clearing, in the centre there was some kind of warehouse that looked solemn and sharp, like it sucked the light out of its surroundings
Tony flew straight at it, firing repulser blast after repulser blast but they merely bounced off
"For fucks sake" Tony muttered to himself
"Language!" Steve yelled as he threw a HYDRA agent over his shoulder with ease
Tony rolled his eyes and flew to a distance above the warehouse
A huge repulser blast came from both of his palms and hit the barrier and it began to fracture
"Tony! Anytime now!" Natasha yelled through the comms
"I'm working on it!" Tony yelled as the barrier began to fracture more and more
Suddenly it broke and appeared to disintegrate
"We're through!" Tony yelled as he swooped down, blasting a hole in the side of the building and landing gracefully inside
"I'll give you a lift!" Wanda yelled at Steve, Bucky and Natasha as she lifted them up to the hole in the wall
"Me and Clint will finish off the rest of them!" She called as she took out three agents at once
"Got it!" Natasha yelled back as she ran after the group down the winding corridors
