Your POV
I've been at the boarding school for around 2 years now. I was found out in the woods, looking about dead, with a horde on my tail. Luckily Violet and Louis were there at the right time to save me. They took me back to this place, and I've been here since. Currently everyone was doing there daily chores, until a crash was heard in the distance. We all looked to the gates worryingly, but shrugged it off. Today Louis, Marlon and Violet were out hunting, and have been gone for about 2 hours now, I just hope they're alright and that the crash had nothing to do with them at all.
"Hey Y/n." Said a voice I recognised too much. "Hey Willy. What's up?" "Marlon told me that once my watch was done, you was to take over." he replied. "And I assume your watch is done?" "Yup." He said before taking off, turning around to wave briefly, before making his way over to where Mitch was, making knives and such. I looked back at the wooden platform near the gates where we were supposed to take watch to see Zuri standing there, with a pair of binoculars in her small hands. She had chocolate brown skin, Black hair tied into a small Afro bun, a small but wide nose, big and soft lips and she was wearing a white tee underneath a ripped gray zip up hoodie, with black ripped jeans and dark brown boots. she had one fluffy sock higher than the other, sticking out of the boot and clearly visible and she had a small belt on her waist, with a knife attached to it. I approached the young girl cautiously and climbed up the unstable ladder. I got to the top and she'd already turned around to see who was there. "Y/n!" she engulfed me in a hug. "Hey Zuri. How's look-out going?" I asked as I broke the hug with the small girl. "It's going good. Did you hear that explosion a while ago?" She asked. "Yeah. Any idea what it was?" I asked her in return. "Nope. Willy said that it was near the train station, outside the safe zone. So we should be safe from whatever it was." "Well that's good." She handed me the binoculars so I could take a look. I looked out into the distance to see 3 figures, 2 males and a female, running towards the gates with another teenage female in their arms and a small boy in the female's arms. I quickly recognised them as Louis, Marlon and Violet. "Get the gates open!" Marlon, the leader of Ericsons shouted. I jumped down the ladder, running to the gates and opening it, as they ran in. I closed it behind them and the three made their way to the dorm rooms, followed by Ruby and Tenn who were most likely going to go treat them of their injuries. I was going to follow them and see what was going on, but everyone else was already doing so and I wanted to give them space so that Ruby and Tenn could work on the injured new people.
I climbed back up the ladder, where Zuri was perched at the top. "Hey kiddo. Why don't you go draw or play or something. I'll take watch from here." She nodded, handing over the binoculars again before making her way down the ladder and off to our shared room. I continued watching the what was deserted woods, but ever since that explosion it seems as though it had drawn the attention of more of the dead. I was so focused on what was happening outside that I didn't notice a familiar presence sneak up behind me. The said presence had wrapped its arms around my waist, in a bear hug like manner. "Boo.." It whispered. I recognise that hoarse voice anywhere and turned around only to be faced with none other than Violet. "So, how'd the hunting go?" I asked her. "Well unless you count hunting for a pretty girl and a young boy, I'd say it didn't go so well. I tried telling Marlon that we need to expand the safe zone as we've scraped it bare, but he doesn't seem to listen, thinking it's a bad idea.." I chuckled at her dry humour, however, it doesn't surprise me she'd call the girl pretty as Violet seems to have a crush on every girl she lays eyes on, considering she's a lesbian; but that's every girl but me. Which makes me sad as I've had a crush on Violet since we met, but didn't realise until she started dating Minerva and I always used to get mad at Minerva because I was jealous for what they had. When Minnie was said to be dead, I was happy because it meant I could have a thing with Violet, but also sad seeing how sad it made Violet, And although it's been nearly a year, she still has hope she's alive, which saddens me further knowing she still hasn't fully moved on. "Hello? Y/n?" She waved her hand in front of my face, catching my attention. "Oh sorry. What was you saying?" She chuckled before speaking. "Well I was going to go take a nap on the wall, like I always do. But I didn't want to just leave without saying something." "Okay. See you later?" I asked her. "Will do." She smiled before climbing onto the wall and walking over to the part she always naps at. I turned around and continued on with my job, lookout.
