NIGHTFALL HAD reached the small town of Rosewood as the five teenage girls were sat in the infamous Apple Rose Grill.

"Why was Jenna there?" Aria asked.

"Probably wanted confirmation that her arch enemy is finally dead." Amber commented, fiddling with the ring on her middle finger.

  "I guess she's back."

"That cop acted like we were suspects or something." Said Hanna.

"Do you think we looked guilty?" Emily wondered, glancing nervously at each of the girls.

"Why would we? We haven't done anything wrong." Aria reassured her.

Hanna sighed, "Except lie about the Jenna thing."

"We promised we'd never bring up the Jenna thing again, remember?" Spencer scolded the blonde, "It never happened."

"Have you found a way to forget?" Aria questioned, "I still wake up sometimes in the middle of the night—"

"Aria! It was an accident." Spencer reminded her.

Amber stayed quiet, watching as Hannah poured whatever was in her flask into two glasses for the girls. She noticed Hanna staring at someone behind Spencer's back, "It's medicinal."

The older man didn't look convinced, eying the glass of alcohol, Amber turned to face him, "Cramps!" She snapped.

"I don't get it," Emily told them, "How does -A know something only Ali knew about me?"

"Ali knew all of our secrets, but. . . we never knew any of hers." Aria complained.

"I knew some." Amber and Spencer shrugged.

"Go on." Aria urged.

"Talk." Hanna joined in.

"We can't." Spencer dodged the conversation topic.

"Spence! No, you two are not gonna drop a bomb like that and just clam up!" Aria hissed.

"She'd so kill us if we told you!"

"She's dead!" Hanna gaped.

A small huff left Emily's lips, the girl avoiding all eye contact. Amber too felt her face drop at the comment.

"Ali was seeing someone that summer." Spencer finally spoke up.

"I knew she was keeping something from me," Emily said before realising her mistake, "from us."

"Well, why didn't she want us to know?" Aria furrowed her eyebrows, looking between the redhead and the brunette.

"He was an older boy, and he had a girlfriend." Amber informed her.
