She answers, "Or else I'll tear you to shreds." I nod and say coming to my conclusion, "Yep, definitely a Neanderthal, never uses any brains to think things through." She raises her hand angrily as the door swings open, Brad says enraged, "Don't you dare hit my baby sister." I sigh and say, "Guess we have the same class Brad."
He growls at me and asks angrily with authority, "Why didn't you wait, Maddie? I needed to know which classes we have together." I say back, "Well, we have English together." He says ranting at me, "That's not the point Matt! You could get seriously injured if your not careful." I stand and ask angrily,"When did you become like Dad, Brad? You and everyone in your little gang is too overprotective of me, when do I get to learn from my mistakes?"
He growls at me and says demanding, "Don't use that tone with me, Matt!" I say rolling my eyes, challenging him, "What you gonna do? Punish me? How? You got nothing over me!" Now this is a sibling argument, he says trying to calm himself, "Quit testing me, Matt." I cross my arms and say, "Please, Brad, you know I never test, unless necessary." He smirks and says, "Of course I know that, this is just another challenge, isn't it, Matt?" I frown and stomp on his foot, "Shut up, Brad, I was perfectly fine before you showed up!"
He winces in pain and says, "Yeah, right, she was about to hit you, and you weren't paying any attention." I say wide eyed, "How am I suppose to see, if she was going to hit me, our cat ate my contacts, all I see is blurry blobs." He asks concerned, "Where's your glasses, Matt?" I answer, "They were in the school, when it burned down, my new ones are coming in two months and my contacts are the same."
He sighs and says, "Doc. Jeff never makes things easy." I say, "You know I can't see far, why do you think I chose a desk at the front of the class, and even then I still have a hard time making the words out on the board." Mr. Coates asks, "When was I gonna know about your sight problem?" I answer, "I was gonna tell you, right when class was gonna start again, I swear."
Mr. Coates nods as I look up at Brad, I say, "I'm sorry, Brad, it's just, I'm still pissed at Jake for burning the school down, all my projects where there, and my wolf painting was there. I WAS ALMOST FINISHED!!!" I pace in front of him as we hot tears stream down my face, "It was the best one I ever made! I doubt, I could never do a replica of it!" I'm so angry, I barely slept last night, I also need a new lens for my camera, since my good one got burned up.
Brad says calmly putting his hands on my shoulders, "Calm down, Maddie." I say through my anger tears, "But, I'm so angry!" He nods and says now holding me, "I know, I know, Jake's a King man whore.. Come now, Maddie, it's okay." I shake my head like an upset child and say, "No, it's not, my good camera zooming lens was in that school, it was the Star Lens 3000." Brad looks at Mr. Coates and says, "I think my sister and I need to go for a little walk, I'll pick up the notes." I'm so tired, but angry enough to stay awake.
We walk out of class, and we hear a growl just ahead of us, Brad says growling, "Titus Flare." I look up and see the most gorgeous brown eyes, his eyes contact mine, and my heart starts racing. Brad yanks my arm as we move past him, "Let's go Maddie!" I say wincing in pain, "Ow! Brad! That hurts!" He looks down at me and let's go, he says, "Sorry, little sis."
