It was a rather stormy night for the middle of September. I was walking home after the football game. We won, which was no surprise with me as the star player. Every year I carried our team to victory. I was walking lost in thought about how I was going to ask the girl of my dreams to go to homecoming with me. Her name is Rebeka. She is the most beautiful girl I've ever laid eyes on her hair was really long and jet black. Her eyes were like to crystals of perfect opal. They had the perfect mix of green and blue. Her voice was like one of an angels, or so I'd imagine. I've never spoken to an angel, but Rebeka was absolutely perfect. I was so lost in thought, I didn't notice when a girl stepped into my path until she muttered something. She was covered in dirt, her dark hair was everywhere and her eyes were wide with fright.
"Help me, something is chasing me" she yelled
"Come on let's run" I said and we took off running
She was limping really badly. I looked at her legs and her right leg was bloody and covered in what looked like bite marks. I picked her up and put her in my back and ran back to town. When I did I felt something pinch my neck but thought nothing of it. It only took a few minutes but it seemed to be forever. I ran to the hospital and busted through the ER doors.
"Someone help, this girl was attacked by a wild animal" I yelled and nurses and doctors came running and put her on a stretcher and took her into the ER.
A woman ran up dressed in scrubs with bags under her eyes as if she were pulling a double shift and dropped her clip board. She instantly dropped her tiny jaw and said
"I know her she's my daughter"
"Oh my god, im so sorry" I said
Her face was disheveled and masked with fear as she rushed us both to the room to clean up her once beautiful baby girl now covered in puddles of blood
"Save it, she brought this upon herself"
"What's her name?"
"Rebeka"
"Oh" was all I could say. I unknowingly saved the girl of my dreams.
"What happened to your neck?" the nurse asked
"What do you mean?" I asked touching it. I pulled my hand away and there was blood
"I dont know" I said
"Let's get that cleaned up and bandaged" she said grabbing a towel and wetting it. She dabbed my wound and i winced at the pain. When she was done cleaning it she put a huge bandaid on it.
"Good to go, keep it covered" she said
"Thanks" I said
"No problem, it's my job" she said then I left
On my way back home I was thinking about what happened to Rebeka, I felt a sharp pain in my neck but ignored it. I couldn't help but notice my eye sight seemed different. I could see everything in detail as if it were high noon. I looked at the time on my phone, it was 11:57 pm.
"Weird" I whispered to myself. My voice sounded strange, almost savage. I jogged home from the hospital.
"Im home" I called out
No one answered. I looked in my parents room, they were all asleep. I checked on my little sisters. They were fast asleep on a makeshift bed on the floor and they had Frozen playing. I put them in their beds and turned the tv off then went to my room. By then my stomach started feeling weird as if I were hungry so I made me a sandwich. It didnt help so I just layed down in my bed. I was almost asleep when I felt the searing pain all over my body.
Every move, every breath was nothing but white hot pain. I heard cracking and looked at my body, it was changing. I looked in the mirror and saw my face had a lot of hair on it I had what looked like a muzzle like a dog. Then everything went black.
