The castle rumbled and began crumbling slightly as the shaking of the ground got worse and worse. Signifying the dragon was getting closer to the valley, or was possibly already there. FS was still holding Knight close to himself, not going to take any chances of the blonde getting hurt, despite the fact he knew he could most likely protect himself. After all, his leg seemed to be healing rather quickly. That was the only thing slowing him down, right? Fire Spirit snorted and shrugged off the thought, dodging pieces of stone that were falling from the roof of the castle. "It's not safe here! We gotta go.." He spoke over the loud thud's and crashes. FS dashed down the staircase with Knight, the lower area of the castle wasn't getting as damaged as the upper part, at least, not yet. Fire Spirit narrowed his eyes, confused. His castle was usually sturdy. It was hard to break down.
Hell, it was especially built to withstand the hazards of the valley.
He wondered if maybe the dragon had been provoked in some way, other than the cookies of the kingdom attempting to stop its raid. Fire Spirit decided to worry about it later. For now, his top priority was getting Knight to safety. He dashed out the castle rapidly, glancing down at the helpless cookie in his arms, making sure he was safe and sound. Once FS got out the castle, the rumbling and shaking of the ground settled down, but his castle was left in mere chunks. Fire Spirit frantically looked around, watching the dragon stomp its way up a mountain and into its pitch black cave. There was no more disruptions other than puffs of smoke coming out the hiding hole of the beast.

Fire Spirit set Knight down on the ground. He kneeled down in front of him.
"Are you okay..? Are you hurt?"
"I'm fine, Fire Spi-"
"Dammit..I should've never brought you here. I knew it was too dangerous. We almost got crushed!"
"Calm down. It was a mistake..you can't possibly predict what is gonna happen, now can you?"
"No! But-"
"Fire Spirit."
"..."
Fire Spirt's hair had flared up in anger, but calmed down slowly at the soothing sound of Knight's voice. He was mad at himself.
Mad he had put Knight in danger. After all, he had made the deal with him to keep Knight at all costs. Not lose him to death, but to FS, this deal meant so much more than keeping Knight as a possession. It was a feeling running through his heated body and through his heart and up to his mind. He couldn't explain this different burning sensation he was feeling. It frustrated him, but brought him a slight feeling of completion.
Whatever it was, Fire Spirit decided not to worry about it so much. Before he could open his mouth to speak he had suddenly been grabbed. Knight was holding his waist, noticing how Fire Spirit had paused to think. It had worried the poor blonde cookie. He figured certainly the legendary cookie had been stressing about this incident. About himself and the destruction of his very own home. So, of course, he would try his best to comfort him.

Knight pulled FS into a tight hug, feeling the warmth of his body heat up his armor. A couple of golden locks falling down onto his shoulders and covering up one of his shimmering cyan eyes. He thought this would maybe be for the best, what better way to show someone you are there for them than a loving hug. Knight had always loved the embrace of these kinds of gestures. He thought maybe Fire Spirit would enjoy them too.
However, at first, FS simply stared down at Knight, frozen and still quite angry. Though that anger defused once the cookie didn't let go, his body managed to slump a bit from the hug. It startled him, yet made his body temperature raise. Fire Spirit had never experienced such a touch.
Such an action.
Such beauty.
In his moment of keeping his gaze on Knight Cookie. It had felt like his castle had never been destroyed.
It felt like it had been rebuilt and gotten an upgrade.
It felt like the falling of the kingdom never happened.
It felt like he had never been disrespected ever in his life.
This grasp, this touch, this hug... made him feel so alive.
It made him consider that maybe this is what he had been burning for his whole life. FS couldn't help but repeat the motion Knight did by wrapping his arms back around the cookie, grabbing him firmly and managing to smile joyfully. His flame burning brighter than ever before.
Knight was a bit taken back by this. This happy feeling has been something he had not experienced in ages, or so it felt like it. Once the emotion struck him, he realized that it might be a while until he felt it again.
So might as well enjoy it.
Right?
Knight decided not to second guess himself. He dug his chin into the side of Fire Spirit's shoulder, smiling just as wide as the cookie. The two stayed there for a decent amount of time, holding one another.
They didn't move.
They didn't shift or stir.
It was a peaceful hugging session they both seemed to have liked. As it came to an end, FS had begun playing with Knight's hair.
"I'm...really sorry..for overreacting about the whole castle thing."
Fire Spirit seemed to hesitate.
"It is alright. I know you meant no harm. I know you were just stressed."
"Yeah..stressed. I just..I hate to get you into more danger." FS looked up at the sky. "After all..I know you've been through enough."
"Enough..? It's never enough. Once a battle is started...it's hard to end it. And I believe our battle has just begun."
"Our battle..?" Fire Spirit asked in surprise.
"Indeed. I mean...we're in this together. Correct?" Knight looked up at FS as he spoke these words. He knew that the two only had one another. They were not aware of anyone else alive in this world. He knew that wherever he would go, Fire Spirit would be right behind him, and vice versa. Knight's eyes widened as he waited for a response, hoping yet somewhat knowing Fire Spirit would not deny his statement. The blond cookie truly popped out from the whole valley. It made him unique. His colors, his white chocolate protection, his blue lance. It made him different, and Fire Spirit adored that fact.

After a while of silence and taking in the words he had said, FS had managed to start grinning. It knew the point of Knight's words and completely loved it. It sparked the fire in his chest to get bigger and hotter. He then sunk into the hug even more, his back arching and his head traveling right under Knight's chin. Knight followed Fire Spirit's movements with his eyes and ended up staring directly into FS' beaming crimson pupils. Fire Spirit's grin got wider and wider as he realized they had made complete eye contact. The cookie then nodded slowly, before finally speaking.
"Yeah, we are. We're gonna do this together."
