Images flashed behind my mind.
His golden swept hair, his blue eyes. His eyes alone were enough to command a room.
And yet, I find myself in this moment. My bestfriend... I never expected this to be something that would happen. That's not to say that I didn't hope for it.
He swept a stray piece of hair behind my ear and cuprd my cheek.
I looked up at him.
"I love you," he whispered to me.
His face grew closer to mine until his lips were just barely touching mine.
"Kayleigh.." I heard him say.
"kayleigh?....kayleigh? Hellooo?"
I jumped back as I notice a hand waving in front of my face.
"W-What?" I stuttered.
And there I turned to see him; Xavier, smiling at me as I sit in confusion.
He passed me a slip of paper.
"You were spacing out again. Here. You can copy down my notes."
I took the paper and stared at it trying to shake myself from my mid-class daydream.
"Hey, out of curiosity, how is it that you have the grades you do when you pull stunts like this in every class?" He asked with a chuckle.
"Luck I guess." I answered simply smiling back at him.
The truth was, I may not have been paying attention to the lesson, but I was paying attention to something.
I'm not lying when I tell you that I could repeat to you every gesture and expression that he made. Even when we weren't together, he occupied my thoughts. And I'm not sure I ever want him to leave.
But he didn't feel the same way. He didn't love me like I loved him. All's well in the end I suppose, romance is better left to my dreams anyway.
An elbow hit my arm and I shook from my thoughts once more.
"You're extra quiet today. Everything ok?" Xavier asked.
I nodded "yeah. Better than ever..."
"Got some stud on your mind or what?" He laughed.
I laughed along with him
"...something like that.."
