Emma

When My mum told me 'moving will be easy!' I believed her, but to be honest it sucks. Looking down at my small intertwining fingers, scared to look at the only world I knew passing before my very own eyes, I can only imagine the nerves invading every cell in my small body. Its not only the leaving-the-place-you-only-knew feeling but its unexpected that frightens me the most, and I already know....Dansville will be very different from San Francisco.

I lean my back against the head rest of the car seat letting out a small sigh to then resting my head against the glass watching the water droplets fall down. I close my eyes.

Two hours later

'Wake up em, we are here!' my mum screeches interrupting me from my peaceful sleep by waking me up back to reality. I lift my head off the window and let out big yawn while stretching my arms out. 'WOW the house is beautiful, come on Emma take a look!' exclaims my dad. I open the door and step out to then walk around the back of our Jeep exposing our new house to me. well he wasn't lieing when he said it was beautiful. In front of the three of us was a not too big but not too small white and brick house with ivy trickling up the walls to the second floor windows which has small balcony's on ether end of the house with a grit pathway leading up the front garden to the wooden doorway. Maybe this wont be so bad after all.

'Right who's ready to look inside?' says my dad

'me!' I say teasingly while grabbing the keys from his hand and running up the path.

Eventually when I reach the door I put the key in the golden lock and within a few echoing clicks the door swings open revealing the wooden floors and white walled entry way that leads off to the black and white kitchen and diner on the left and the rustic looking living room on the right. I can feel my jaw dropping so far you could sweep the floor! My parents come up beside me and walk in past me while I just stand and stare at house in front of me. What surprises me the most is how similar it is to our old house with the whole white and rustic feel making me feel right at home.

After a good ten minutes looking around the bottom floor and the beautiful back garden my mum shows me up the wooden stair way on the wall to the left as we walk in. She leads me down to the far left room then leaves me to explore it on my own.

I twist the golden handle and push the heavy door open to reveal my room. 'Holllllly shit' I squeal. After a few seconds of taking it all in I begin dancing around on the warm wooden floor that has a golden light shining on them from the light though the window wall. A WINDOW WALL! Everything is just so beautiful from the way the bed is layed out (which is huge by the way) to the ivy peaking around every window that brightens the room.

I walk over to the balcony door on the right and open it letting the cold breeze hit my small frame before entering my room. I step out onto the cold concrete and tiptoe to the railing admiring the huge tree that stands next to the edge. Immediately I get a epic idea for the branches and leafs dangling over the side of the railing like a small canopy.

I run back down stairs to the car to grab my bag and suitcase then race back up while rummaging though my bag on the way to find what I need. As I reach my room I dump all the stuff on the ground and pounce back over to my canopy of leafs. Fairly lights and a nice blanket on the floor with candles will make it look perfect!

After setting up my masterpiece I stand back to get a proper look. 'you've done it again Emma you genius' I say looking at the twinkly lights wrapped around the branches and the flickering of the candles as the sun sets in front of me. This is now officially called my happy place. The more I look at my new happy place the more my fears and nerves disappear and all I can say to myself is 'maybe this wont be so bad after all.'
