Emma
My eyes flutter open as the brisk autumn sun shining though the window warms up my body from under my duvet. It takes me a few minutes to get my bearings of where I am, leaning up and looking around my room shaking off the bad dream I had about going to my new school today. And then last night makes its way to my head...Ryder.
Damn that is a hell of a name you can get lost in.
I shake my head and rub my eyes to then jump out of bed and head over to my record player to play some light music as I get ready for school. 'Nothing better than a little lovelytheband in the morning' I mutter as the record starts spinning letting the echoing sounds bounce of the walls.
Slowly I begin to tap my feet to the beat of the music and tilt my head back letting the worries in my head get drowned out y the tune. I begin to walk over to my vanity dancing along the way to then hear a knock behind me. Quickly I stop and pivot on the spot, the music now only a fuzzy blur in the back of my head.
I turn to see him, yes Ryder, Standing smirking and giggling with his hand against his topless stomach which is toned dramatically with defined abs and upper chest strength that draws me in. His hands move down to his jogging bottoms and he slides them into his pockets. I look back up to his face, my throat now fully dry, to come eye to eye with him.
I give him a weak smile and he then reflects mine but with more of a glow that mesmerises me.
After a few moments of studying each other, he grabs his note book scribbles something down and turns it over so I can see.
See you soon Pumpkin
What on earth? What does that even mean? Panic builds up in me but I see him get on a tee and grab a bag and walk out. I lick the insides of my mouth to get rid of the dryness and start to get ready for my day, but the message 'see you soon' still circles my mind.
20 minutes later
I grab my over the shoulder bag and run downstairs after attempting to get ready with putting my hair in a messy bun and just a little mascara and then wearing black jeans and a yellow jumper with flowers stitched on.
I reach the dining room to have breakfast with my parents but I immediately stop and my jaw drops to the floor as I see Ryder and another man sat at the table opposite my mum and Dad. I grip onto the strap of my bag till my fingers went yellow, just standing there.
'Darling this is Mr Anderson and is son Ryder, they came over to say hello and welcoming us to the neighbourhood, isn't that lovely?' Mum says excitingly then popping a strawberry in her mouth.
'yes it is' I whisper so they can just about hear, my mouth giving up on me.
'They were so nice that we insisted they should come in for breakfast' Dad adds. 'Come, Come sit Emma, Eat.'
I slowly walk over to the chair at the end of the table with mum sitting on one side of me and Ryder on the other. I lower myself down and stair at the plate to then feel a tap on a foot on my own. I know its Ryder. I inhale and look up to his sparking green eyes that have flakes of gold in, nothing like I have seen before. He gives me a smirk as he notices me so deeply admiring his eyes.
I reach over to reach a apple and take a bite letting the sense of the rich taste explode in my mouth.
'well you two teens better be getting off to school, dont want to be late' My mum interrupts breaking of dads and Mr Andersons convocation.
'ok then, come on Emma' Ryder says and he stands up and reaches for his leather jacket on the back of the chair. I get up too, confused why Im going with him. But that dosent bother me, his husky voice echoing in my head distracts me so I just follow him out to the hall way struggling to keep up with him. I shout goodbye to my parents as i close the door as I walk past Ryder.
'Where do you think your going Pumpkin' He says grabbing my waist almost scaring the life out of me. He spins me round and my nerves grow as his smirk widens. I lick the inside of my mouth and speak...
'To school...where we are supposed to be going.' My voice sounds vulnerable compared to his. A low laugh escapes his lips.
'Oh silly, We dont walk to school, we ride.' I lift up one eyebrow at him, surprised at my sudden rush of confidence to do so. He takes his hands of my waist and gestures towards his sports car parked up perfectly on his drive.
'We are going to school...in that!' I say
'Obviously Pumpkin, How else will we get there' he says in a cocky tone. He opens one of the doors me to get in. I slide in but he doesn't close the door yet, but just hovers over me.
'I was right, you do have nice freckles' He mutters, the smirk still playing at his lips which makes me even more on edge. He closes the door and hops into his seat and roars the engine, controlling it to a soft purr like a lion trainer.
I sigh loudly and he giggles
'Dont be nervous its just a car and we are just going to school'
'Im not nervous' I say not wanting him to see my vulnerability
He glances over to me and pulls out of the drive way and begins driving to school.
I look out of the window seeing my house escape my view, New school here I come.
