I watch as Nixon paces back and forth. "If you took it, I'll break your filthy a$$." "What did I take?!" "My phone, a$shole!" I sigh, standing up. "I don't have it, Nixon! Are you sure you didn't leave it at Xavier's house?" "I'm f*cking sure, Bella!" I take a deep breath. "I didn't f*cking take it, Nixon!" "Then what's in your pocket?" I pull the phone out of my pocket. "It's my phone, okay?!" He quickly grabs my phone from me and turns it on. "Who's Adam?!" "It's m-my boyfriend." He shakes his head. "How long?" I rub my neck. "A year." He takes a deep breath. "What did I tell you about boyfriends?!" He says, throwing my phone on the ground. "Nixon!" He steps towards me. "What?" I lunge towards him, but he moves at the last second, making me fall onto the carpet. "Hell no!" I yell, standing up and I tackle him, pinning him to the ground. "What the hell is wrong with you?!" I yell, slapping him. He sighs. "Just give it up, Bella." He says, ruffling my hair. I sigh as he watches me, laughing.
I wake up, rubbing my eyes and grabbing my phone.
God, the light!
I stretch a bit before turning my phone back on.
7:10, just great.
I scroll down to find a text from Adam.At first I'm confused, but after a few minutes, I start crying.
He's cheating on me, that son of a b!tch!
There's no reason to why he did that, the last time we had sex was three weeks ago.
What if I did something wrong? I probably did. It's all my fault!
I slowly lift my phone down, staring at the text.
Hell, Adam, why didn't you tell me I did something wrong?
I quickly slam my finger onto the call button.
He answers after a few rings. "Hey, babe." "Seriously? You f*cking liar!" "What do you mean?" "All of those times you told me you were going to basketball practice, you were going over to her house, weren't you?" "Who's house?" "Stupid f*cking Brenna's!" He sighs. "I wasn't, Bella." "Where were you going, then?" "To f*ck Brenna at my house." I sigh, and my heart skips a beat. "Why?" "I f*cked her because you were all behind in school!" "Seriously? You could've just told me!" "Well, I-i wasn't thinking correctly, but I got addicted! The way Brenna treated me, the way she would sit in my lap:it was perfect." "So you're saying I wasn't?" "Um, hell no! You were so awkward!" "It's because it was my first time, dummy! I was trying to get past the pain!" "Seriously? It was only your first time?" "I'm only sixteen, Adam! Be lucky that I didn't wait a year or two more!" He sighs. "So, are we over?" My heart drops. "Yes, we're over, Adam." I say, hanging up. I press my legs to my chest and cry.
I tried to cry as softly and quietly as I could, but my mom peeks in. "Is everything alright, darling?" I sigh, glancing up at her. She walks over, wrapping her arms around me. "Why did I love him?" "What do you mean?" "Why did I believe Adam when he said that he loved me?" She squeezes me. "He does love you." "Then why would he cheat on me?" She sighs. "He cheated on you?" I nod, letting the tears fall. "H-he sexted me, then told me he sent it to the wrong person." "Oh, honey." I bury my head in her chest. "I should've listened to my friends." "Why? What did they say?" "T-they told me he was a player, but I wouldn't listen. They told me everything about him, but I didn't listen to them. I thought he actually loved me." She brushes a strand of my hair behind my ear. "I'm sorry, honey." I sigh. "I thought it was going to be like it was with James;break his heart, then walking off, smiling. But now, my heart won't calm down." She glances at me. "I wish it were that easy." I smile a bit. "Listen, I have to get to work soon, but I'll be home tonight for dinner." I nod.At school, I greet my best friend, Veronica, with a hug.
She's been in and out of cancer treatments lately, and she's texted me every night about how much she's suffering and how she feels like she's dying slowly.
"You're back!" I say.
She chuckles. "Yup, and boy, let me tell you, having your period while you're stuck laying down is sh!t!"
I roll my eyes, pulling away from the hug. "Sounds like Veronica alright."
She elbows me. "It's not my fault that your life is perfect and your brother is roaming around the halls all the time with his guy friends, which prevents us from talking."
I chuckle, nodding. "That's Nixon in a nutshell."
"Wait, did you hear that Xavier cheated with Grayson?"
"With who?"
"Tyler."
Xavier has always been gay, from the minute Nixon introduced him to me, the annoying little sister who wanted to do everything Nixon did.
Nixon's always known about Xavier's sexuality, but Xavier knows to hide it whenever he's at our house.
My family is catholic, but not the strict catholic.
I haven't gone to church in three years, yet my mom goes every Sunday.
She is against underage sex, unmarried sex, gay or lesbians, basically anything against the bible.
"Tyler?"
She nods. "And he's having a party tonight." She says, resting against her locker.
"We already know I can't go, Veronica."
"I know, I was just hoping. Maybe you could sweet talk your mom?"
"Like she'd take that! She already had a son who went through all of the girls and parties, mom found out."
She sighs. "Can you atleast come for an hour?"
"Fine, I'll try."
