The primary source of nourishment for the villagers of Little Marina is the well-taken care of seas.
People took care of the oceans like it was their child... their parent... a family member.
And in return it gave them all they could ever ask for; healthy and gigantic fishes and everything else the ocean could offer.
For many years, the villagers and the seas lived happily.
One day people from other villages took refuge in Little Marina and they accepted them whole-heartedly.
As time went by, more people sought refuge in their village and they took them in with no hesitation.
The refugees soon found home in the humble village and saw that there was more to the village than just a place to take shelter.
Fueled by hunger to have as many as the other villagers could take home from the sea, some of them took to persuading the villagers of their ways and soon the village grew into civilization.
The villagers respected the people who brought progress and development to them and did not mind what else the refugees did to the seas; thinking that it's for the good of the village.
And the people too started evolving. The refugees married the villagers and gave birth to a new generation of fishermen.
With time, along with the civilization the seas started turning darker and corrupted.
Less and less did the ocean give them its bounty... until there was nothing to give.
The villagers sought other ways for sustenance and disregarded the ocean as a source of nothing but a place to throw away their waste onto.
But one fisherman never failed to set out on the oceans every day trying to clean it and ask for a single fish to bring home to his family.
He did not return for many weeks and people started forgetting him.
So it was a great surprise when he came back with a big triumphant smile and a huge, healthy, live salmon.
People envied him and started talking behind his back of whatever witchcraft the man might have done to have found that big a fish.
Every week from then on, the man would sail on to the seas and would return with the same healthy salmon and the envious villagers became more ill-hearted at the man's fortune.
One of the vicious fishermen snuck at the family's hut one night and killed them all and took with him the big fish.
A few others planned on doing the same as the man did then.
The villagers started killing one another until the seas have had enough watching the pitiful humans dwell on the fate they brought upon themselves and drowned them all to save the Earth for a new generation.
And the world started anew for yet new people to seek shelter and sustenance from it; and in return, take care of the land and the oceans and everything on the planet that brings life to everything in it.
