He's Always Late.

"Morning" I yawned, walking down the spiral stairs and into the kitchen when family were already around the breakfast table. I sat down in my seat which was next to my mum (who sat at the end of the table and dad sat at the other end) and my younger sister, Rose. There was a few 'good mornings' but apart from that, everyone was miserable. That's probably the reason that when Jake flew through the door and stood before the table, everyone jumped.

Jake is our next door neighbours son and also best friends with my eldest brother, Shawn.

"Ready, Shawny boy?" Jake said, his loud voice booming through the room as he walked towards Shawn who was now standing and grabbing his jacket.

"Laters" Shawn yelled, walking out the Kitchen, still holding his toast

"See ya, Mr and Mrs J and mini Missus and Mr J's" Jake patted my youngest sibbling, Theo on the head before following Shawn out.

"That boy" Dad tutted but it was clear he was joking since he was smiling and he was extremely fond of our neighbours children since he was friends with their dad, Troy.

"I have to go aswell" I stood up, stuffing the pieces of toast in my mouth

"See you later, Sweetheart" Mum smiled at me which I returned. I kissed Rose and Theo's cheek before heading out the door.

Without a doubt, I knew that my best friend, Violet would be leaning on the fence that separated our gardens. She was another one of the Walker's children. It was obvious she was a Walker because of the signature bright blond hair and blue eyes. All of them had blond hair and blue eyes apart from.. No. I won't even go there.

She turned and smiled at me. That was another thing, they all had dazzling smiles. She was definatley one of the prettiest girls in school but she didn't let her beauty get to her. That's what I love about her. Even though she knows that she is beautiful, she doesn't go around bragging and getting what she wants for her looks, she's down to earth.

"Hurry up!" She wined "We're going to be late" I waved my keys in front of her and she took them, running towards my land rover that I'd gotten for my 17th birthday. She drove us both to school and parked the car in our usual spot; not to close and not to far away from school.

"What's up?" She turned her sapphire gaze onto me, studying my face for any emotion what-so-ever

"Just worried about these exam's" I tried to give her a reassuring smile. It must have worked because she looked at me for a moment first before getting out of the car.

I wasn't normally one to worry about exam's but this one would be a big one. One that would count towards 60% of my final grade. I knew I had revises for it all, probably more than I should have but I had it covered after all but that thought ddin't help to reassure me.

"Coming or what?" I realised I still wasn't out of the car so I hopped out and joined her as we walked into school together.

"Ladies" Cameron said, coming behind us and putting an arm around each of our shoulders.

"Cameron, fancy seeing you here" He laughed

"Thought I'd surprise you" Cameron was mine and Violets other best friend. It had been us three since we were 10 years old and we had stayed best friends since then.

We all headed off to our form room.

When we arrived, there was half of the class already there so we sat in our seats; Violet and me at one table and next to us, Cameron sat in his seat.

"Hey, did you guys hear about Franko's party tonight?" Cameron asked, leaning across to our table and putting his head on the space in front of me

"No, but we do now!" Violet squealed. She was a big party animal and when I say that, I mean you know that girl who gets pissed just by looking at alcohol and spends the night playing 'Spin the Bottle' and dancing on tables? That's Violet.

"Not another one" I moaned. I was the opposite. I was always the one stood at the sides watching everyone else have fun while all I wanted to do was go home.

Come to think of it, I was the complete opposite of Violet. We are best friends and we go together  so well because we have some similarities but in a lot of ways we are totally different. Like our looks; she has mid-length, pin straight, blond hair and I have wavy brown hair that goes down to the bottom of my back. She has blue eyes and I have grey eyes that have a little blue in them but also a little green. She likes dancing and I like to play musical instruments like Guitar and Keyboard. She likes Taylor Swift and I like Paramore and You Me At Six. We are quite different.

"Yes! We have to go!" She gave me the puppy dog eyes and as much as I really wanted to say no, I couldn't when she did that look. It was impossible. When Violet gave you 'that look' you could never say no.

"I'm not dressing up!" I crossed my arms over my chest in protest but she hugged me which made me hug her back.

"Alright! Enough hugging Ladies!" Miss Campbell said as she came into the class, smiling at Violet and Me. She likes us because we were one of the only students in the class that actually payed attention and did what she said. All the others just caused her trouble which, at the old age of 57, she couldn't handle so she just ignored the rest. She's nice, with light grey hair that would have been a lovely blond in her youth and pale blue eyes which were always coated with a different coloured eyeshadow.

"Morning class!" She called out

"Morning Miss C" The class said, in a monotone way. Just as we finished the door opened and in came the Devil himself.

Thomas Walker.

He was the worst of the Walkers. The rest were nice and pleasent people; my second family but he was the reincarnation of satan. We used to be friends; Him, Violet; Cameron and Me but that ended a while ago.

"Late again" Miss tutted

"You know it" He winked at her which was disgusting to watch.

+FLASHBACK+

I tugged on Kayla's blouse. "Where's Tommy?"

"He wanted to ride his bike round, sweetheart" Tommys mummy said

I looked around the room, trying to find him through all the people

"Happy birthday!" Someone said, coming up to me and handing me a present with a car taped to it. They walked off with their parents and started to dance with the other children. It went by an hour and I still sat waiting for my best friend to come and wish me happy birthday. The party was over soon and I hadn't had any fun yet. I couldn't without Tommy.

"Well hello there, would it be your birthday" I turned around and saw Tommy there, smiling at me with a silly smile on his face "I didn't get much but... you know" He smiled and handed me a box. I opened it to reaveal a curvy, white shell on a necklace with a pendant already attached. He pulled down his collar to reaval the same shell and pendant but on a black rope necklace. "Friendship necklaces" He smiled as I flung myself at him and hugged him

"I'll keep it forever" I whispered in his ear

"Me too, Chas, me too"
