My Story

Hey, I'm Donovan and let me tell you a bit about myself.

Well first off, I'm gay and live in North Carolina, and let's be honest here North Carolina isn't the best place to be gay. I mean it's not as bad as some other places in the Deep South of the U.S, but there are still some issues of being gay here.

Ok, so my love life isn't all that great either. I went to Garner High for my freshman year, which is the only HighSchool in town. Almost everyone you knew from elementary and middle school are in that one school, which can be a good thing and a bad thing.

So anyway, on the first day of HighSchool the usual things happen. You go to your classes, you meet a bunch of people, and then go home. But the second day of school is see this AMAZING most beautiful guy I have ever seen, I couldn't take my eyes off of him, he was just that amazing. But then the bell rang, and lunch was over. I didn't see that guy again for about a month until I went to the other cafeteria with my friend, and apparently he was friends with the guy that I saw.....so...yea, things started getting serious.

A few weeks later I told my friend (aka William) that I was gay, and that I had a crush on that guy, which his name was Logan. To be honest William really took it well, he totally excepting it, and I was extremely grateful. Now this is where the serious stuff starts to happen. Will asks me if I wanted him to hook Logan and I up, and I said yes,...obviously, which was a long and hesitating process what went on for months.

So apparently Logan was bi, and was actually interested in getting to know me, which was AMAZING,....but it didn't last for long. We didn't talk in school much because I was soooo shy, and he didn't talk to me much either. Me and Will started hanging out on the weekends a lot at the movies with some other friends, and Will tries to set up a date with me and Logan,....but Will gives Logan the wrong movie time...and...nothing works out.

Around Christmas break Will says he is moving to Ohio, and then a day later he's gone. About a week later Will introduces me to Logan on Xbox,...yes Xbox. We talked for about a week, and I actually thought this might work. We talked everyday and I really started to develop feelings for him, we had so much in common. His voice was so amazing. Sadly on January 1st was the last day we talked. All of a sudden he just stopped talking to me, and trust me, it BROKE my heart.

When winter break was over, and when we all went back to school, I saw him talking to another dude. Now I don't know if he was just a friend, or someone he's was actually interested in. After that I started getting extremely sad, and extremely self cautious.

About four months later I,...for some reason checked on his Instagram,....and saw something that almost put me into tears. He was now actually dating someone else. Logan and I never actually dated, but it still broke my heart seeing him with someone else.

Ever since then I've been trying to get over him, and I've been doing pretty well. School starts in about three weeks, and I will probably be seeing him again, but he is my past and it's time to move on.
