Channel 9

It was a lonely, late Saturday evening.

Eventually I ran out of things to occupy myself with, starting to mess around with the televisions remote. I never watched much TV, but I was curious, our TV didn't have typical cable, but the channel buttons lead to different functions. Channel 1 was just regular television that I knew. Channel 2 was how the x-box connected to the TV, the next was for the PlayStation. But beyond that, I had no idea. There were other options for me to choose from so I just went ahead and clicked on the "4" button.

Nothing, it was a screen filled with static. I was kinda disappointed, but what did I expect. I kept pressing the other buttons, and channel switch after switch, there was nothing but static or a quiet blue screen.

Until the last, Channel 9.

It was an outside view of my house, from the side of the wall facing my front door. The view was pretty wide, beyond the front door I could see my garage to the left and even some of the street out front. It was a sepia toned screen, the sun had nearly gone down which didn't help my view.

I didn't immediately notice it was my house, wasn't until I saw the house number that I registered it. Well, I didn't believe it because of what I saw mostly. The front window was halfway open, a shadowy figure standing in front of it, a hand on the underside of it.

I felt my spine shiver, the poor video quality gave me absolutely no clues as to what it was, besides the inhuman form of it's goat like legs. It was almost like a void of color, the vague shape of the rest of its body made me intensely uncomfortable.

But it wasn't moving, almost like it knew I was watching, just frozen in that stance.

The front door was two rooms down from where I currently was, and no part of me wanted to investigate. But, being curious I couldn't help myself. The house was dark, I didn't have any of the lights on considering it was just me. So, as I poked my head into the room, I was able to let out a gigantic sigh of relief to see the window was shut, the curtain pulled to cover it. My body relaxed, standing fully and trotting over, locking it and my front door for extra measure. But, that just left the question, what was I watching?

As I re-entered my living room, my brain was bursting with questions. My parents were out on a important event, so I couldn't call them. I didn't have siblings either, so it was extremely unlikely that anyone would be playing a prank on me.

It was getting later and later, but I just left my TV on this live-stream of my ever-unchanging front view of my house. I eventually got frustrated, sitting on my knees in front of it, scanning the screen.

When, suddenly, my heart flooded with panic as I noticed one damning piece of evidence I had somehow skipped over.

The time stamp at the lower left corner was at 6:30PM.

20 minutes before I had gone to check.
