My mind is awake before my body is, racing with thoughts as my heavy, reluctant eyes push open. I have been up all night with anticipation of today. Which wasn't such a great idea! I pull the warmed covers from my body and drag myself form the bed. Padding to the small bathroom that resides just across the hallway.
Looking into the mirror, my worries were confirmed. I had slightly darkened circles underneath my eyes. Of course they weren't as bad as my mind was making them out to be. Still today if all days, I wasn't to happy with the face staring back at me.
Now I bet your wondering what is so exciting and well important, about today. Well I know it sounds cheesy, but today must be the most magical day of my life. I was going to make sure of it! I mean a girl only has one chance at her last and possibly first, Prom.
I wasn't the most popular through high school. I was average looking, with a slender build. My hair was either always flat, or tied into a knot, at the top of my head. My blue eyes were a little sunken, and my forehead just slightly too big. Other then that I had pretty good looking features.
• My noes was like the ones you would see on covers of magazines.
• My chin resting in just the right place, with little to no extra fat.
• My face was heart shaped for the most part, giving me a Selena Gomez look.
• My skin just as tanned as hers, mostly due to my half Mexican heritage. It wasn't really my looks that made me so invisible, for most of my school years. I was pretty enough, when high school rolled around, I did get some attention from a few guys. They were all very nice and sweet in there own ways, but I was book romantic. I dreamed of having a love, like the ones from my books. Never really finding that from the boys at school, people slowly lost interest in me.
