I can read you just as easily as anyone else. Yes you, the one reading these words on this screen or page. As your fingers scroll the page, or brush the words, I know you instantaneously. Every word you've thought or said, what's going to happen to you in the future, who you'll marry, the color of your present aura, and all the other useless clichés. These words came from my mind. And they now have a link to yours. So, if I really cared about knowing about you, your family, your life, I could access all of it with just a thought. And now you should know that you are no longer safe. Not since you've read the first "I" on this page. You know too much. You know my curse, my burden. And you think going to high school with this is easy? No. that's why I dropped out, fled. Just one of the many reasons. Reasons you'll figure out later as you continue reading from curiosity. But if not, then you won't know the truth. The REAL truth. About the CORP, the Coven, the strange things hidden in life that are being kept and manipulated to shade out difference. Ahhh, even more curious? Keep reading.

I'm not the only one. Everyone has a gift. Usually more than one. And once you learn to harness it, you'll find yours. But enough said. My name is Evangelina, Evan for short. And as I said before, I'm a reader. I can read anything that has had a previous connection with something my mind was connected to, making it easy to run and protect my Coven. But making it hard to be normal. Let's start at the beginning.

I was raised in a small house in a small town. My dad was in the military and died during the war, but lived long enough to get my mom pregnant with me. They were young. Never even got married. I was an accident. My dad never got to hold me or see me, so my mom raised me alone. It was hard for her, 18 year old mom, just out of high school. Her parents cut all ties with their "failure of a daughter", so I grew on welfare. Not too bad, got what we needed, learned what was a necessity. But one night when I was about seven, mom was driving us home from school and work, we were turning onto our small town street and we never saw the other driver coming. A man had too much to drink at the local bar, never turned his headlights on. We turned and he slammed right into us, killing him and my mother. I was taken to a hospital and treated. I refused to speak until I learned what had happened to my mom. And they told me. I was placed in an orphanage in NYC, I was quiet. And that's when I learned I was different. I began touching other kids by high-fives or tag; I saw pictures, sometimes terrible. I got scared. And I told Ms. Daisy, one of the people who took care of us, she said to grow up and quit being so childish. So I never told. Eventually I learned to control what I saw; I learned how to manipulate it. And I kept quiet. I got older, I stopped being so optimistic that someone would take me home, most were scared when I asked questions that they hadn't said anything about. So on my thirteenth birthday, I packed my things. And ran.

But that's ancient history. Now I've got the Gang. All outcasts. All different. There's Brandon: who was born and raised in NYC, the first I met. He's tall, dark, tan, lean, and yes, gorgeous eyes. He's not a reader, but a necromancer (able to communicate with the dead). He found out his gift after he started seeing his grandfather visit him after he had died. His grandfather said to always remember that he loved him, and that he'd always be with him. It was the middle of the night and Brand thought it was a dream, so he went and woke his mom up, in the middle of telling her what he'd "dreamed" about the phone rang. It was the police, saying that Brand's granddad was in a fatal accident in his home 3oo miles away.

There's Chandler: the second I met. Philly. He's shorter than Brand. Still quite tall, about 6'1". Not nearly as handsome, but very sweet. He grew up in rural Pennsylvania, farm country, and open skies. His gift/curse/whatever? Wings. Gorgeous white and grey flecked wings that spread nearly 10 feet across. Casting shadows against his platinum hair and toned frame. They started growing out of his back when he was nearly 5 years old. His parents were smart enough to leave them be, not let a doctor see, so their son wouldn't end up on a metal table being poked and prodded for experiments. They were nervous. But dealt with it. His parents both died in a fire. He doesn't like to talk about it and that's all that he's told any of us.

There's also Marina. We met in Rhode Island. (In case you haven't noticed we didn't stay in one place too long, too much trouble.) Guess what she was named for? Her Blue eyes. Guess what her gift is? No. not anything to do with water. But fire. She always carries a lighter around incase there's any trouble in the city. She can manipulate it and make it grow and move and pretty much anything you need to know. The guys are kind of scared of her, that's the funny part. She's younger than Brand and Chandler and I. with average brown hair and a petite frame. She looks innocent, but man you do not want to be on her bad side. We don't know much about her past either. And for some reason, neither does she. But I think she kinda has the hots for Chandler. Hmmm...

Then lastly there's Raisa and Keaton. We met up with them in Florida. Daytona to be exact. Keaton's a doll. He's so sweet and he's my angel. He's 5. We picked him up walking along the beach drawing pictures in the sand. He looked at me and said "You're not like everyone else. And I know what you can do." He said almost the same to the rest of the gang. So we brought him along. He doesn't know where his parents are, but he doesn't really miss them. We're his family now. Same with Raisa, she doesn't know either. But we know her thing. We knew when we saw her green eyes against her black hair. Mimicry. All of our gifts, anyone's, she can mimic for a while. She's the last we found. She's the same age as Marina. About 12.

We've settled for now. In the city. I'm not exactly sure that telling you which city would be a good idea, but urban life isn't bad. Not that the lives we lead are glamorous. We live in an apartment (kind of apartment) it used to be an old alleyway bar. But it's pretty nice. The area's a little shady at night but nothing we can't handle. Its more than one room which is nice. Its decent sizing so no one's really crammed together. It's not much, but it's our home. Keeps us out of the spotlight and a place to go at the end of the day. No one ever really knocks on the door. I don't think anyone sees it; it's not exactly a very well lit alley. But yes. Its home. And know you know me. And my Coven. My family. Keaton says a storms coming our way. But you can throw anything at us, and we'll be ready. And I'll keep my mind tuning into your thoughts every now and then... making sure you don't let the secret out. Ill update you later on what's coming.
