Chapter 2

°°°°°°°°°°°°

"I told you it wasn't a good idea to give them to her at school." A male voice full of concern whispers.

"Well excuse me, I didn't know she'd pass out!" Another voice responds in defense, this time a female.

I slowly open my eyes to find myself looking at a white ceiling and then my eyes are immediately assaulted by a bright light.

What the hell?

"Diana?" I look to my right and come eye to eye with a pair of grey iris. I look away from the concerned face and look to my left. Kathy is sitting in a upholstery chair with Landon on the arm.

"Dom?" I ask turning back to to the grey eyes. I slowly rise up from the hard surface I am laying on. I think it's a bed so I look down and surely enough I'm now sitting on a white bed.

"Where am I?" my voice sounds raspy and dry, foreign to my own ears. My head feels heavy and stuffy, there's a pain coming from the corner of my forehead. I reach my hand up and winch as I touch a fresh bump.

"You're in the nurse's office." Landon says as he gets off the chairs arm and sits on the edge of the bed next to me. He graps my hands and gives it a little reassuring squeeze.

He's giving me that look that tells me he was really worried about me. I squeeze his hand returning the favor, letting him know I'm okay.

But why the hell am I here?

"You. . . sort of. . . passed out earlier at lunch." Kathy says answering my unspoken question. She was obviously nervous as her nerves were clear as they oozed out of her words. Landon and Dom look at her while shooting her with disappointed glares.

I was beginning to form my next question as to why I passed out, but then it hit me.

Like a ton of 1D back stage passes.

My eyes popped out of my sockets, as a bunch of scenarios flew one by one through my imagination.

"Me. . . Harry. . . One direction. . . us. . . meeting. . . back stage?" I asked for confirmation as I tried to string a sentence together. By this point all three of them are slowly approaching ready to catch me if I passed out again.

I closed my eyes and focused on bringing my heart rate down. I didn't need to pass out again, good knows how long I was out the last time. I opened my eyes and bit my tongue to keep from bursting out laughing. They all just looked so cute, in a humorous way, with all that concern in their faces. Each one looks as though they've aged twenty years.

"Keep worrying about me, and all of you will look fifty in your twenties." I say in between stifled laughs. They all suddenly look at me with horror as though I've just gone completely insane.

Dom recovers first as he begins to laugh catching my joke. His dimples are fully showing, as he clutches his stomach and falls backwards onto the bed. His laugh is so loud and infectious that I begin to laugh at my own joke all over again. The infection creeps over to Kathy next as she drops back into the armchair flailing her legs around like she's going crazy.

The epidemic reaches Landon last as he simply chuckles over and over again.

"You guys are seriously something else." Landon states as he wipes the fresh tears from his eyes. That's just like him, last infected but first cured.

"No, we're just fun and unique, while you and your friends are living a high school stereotype." Kathy retorts while playfully punching Lan in the arm.

"Hey, what time is it?" I ask pushing a still laughing Dom off my legs and standing up. I reach into my pocket, relieved my phone is still there, checking the time not waiting for any of their answers.

"6:53!?" I shriek locking and unlocking my phone repeatedly hoping the time will somehow turn back. I frantically searched around for my backpack. I'm barely going to have time to finish my homework, and study for my calculus test tomorrow. My mom won't let me go to the concert unless I ace this test.

Oh no! I'm going to fail and I'll never be able to come face to face with Harry. I'll never be able to stroke his gorgeous brown locks of hair!

"Calm down Diana, I brought your stuff home after school finished while you were still out." Landon says as he starts heading out the door. I releases the breath I was holding and calmed down.

"Are you coming or not?" Landon says sticking his head back in the room. I nodded looking around one more time and headed out of the room followed by Kathy and Dom.

"Diana please stop worrying about the math test, I'm sure you did fine." Kathy says pausing the movie after realizing I wasn't paying any attention to it. I stop biting my nails looking up at Kathy. I can tell by the look in her eyes that she only half believed what she was saying.

Dropping my hand, I sighed and shifted my position blankly gazing at the paused screen. A few seconds later and I'm still waiting for Kathy to play the movie.

"Kathy." I say, frustration clear in my voice. I wait but she doesn't answer.

"Kathy." I say flatly, still waiting for her to play the movie. I look away from the screen down at my unresponsive friend. She is simply staring at me like she is the one waiting for something from me.

"Diana, I know your nervous and scared but, I don't want to be the only one enjoying the movie. if you want we can watch something a little less. . . gory than Final Destination." Kathy suggests. I look up at the screen and see a girl with nails through her skull. I scrunch my face and sigh.

"No I'm fine just keep watching I'll be okay." I say waving my hand to dismiss her concern. Kathy just shrugs and mutters something under her breath. She turns back to the tv, hits play and begins to laugh as a nail gun continues to shoot nails through the girl's face.

She is so sadistic sometimes.

I roll over and look at the purple clock sitting in my nightstand, reading the time. I groan, it's well past ten at night and all this anxiety is started to make me feel tired. I lay my head down on my pillow leaving room for Kathy when she's done watching the movie.

I'll find out my test score tomorrow.

I know I aced it, I mean I studied like hell last night.

Oh yeah I've got this in the bag. I'm going to meet one direction.

Harry styles and I are going to fall in love.

And I'll live my life completely and perfectly happy.

I smile and snug a little deeper into my pillow, dozing off with wonderful thoughts of Harry.
