Mia stared at her ceiling, lying on her bed, clutching Mr. Floppy, her favorite stuffed rabbit, to herself. He was a bit scruffy and had spent years gathering dust on a shelf, but today he was desperately needed. She still couldn't believe it! Madam Seitz had answered her. Had written back to her. She now had a handwritten letter by the woman she thought would be forever out of her reach!
And the woman wanted to get to know her better. Get closer to her. Unbelievable!
"And what about your confession?" Sally asked from Mia's smartphone, the speaker crisply clear.
"Well, I was turned down. For now."
"You don't sound too upset about that," Sally observed. Few things got past her, especially when they concerned Mia.
"She wrote that she wanted us to be closer." Mia couldn't quite keep the smugness from her voice.
"Wow! Not bad!"
"There's more, though! Wait for it!" Mia knew her voice was rising with her enthusiasm. She just couldn't help herself.
"I'm waiting! Don't tease me!" Sally laughed.
"She wrote that you could also write her, in case you needed advice from her girlfriends. They'd be happy to help." Mia knew she now was grinning from ear to ear.
"Why would I need advice from her lovers—wait, wait! Does that mean? Oh God, it has to! Congratulations, honey! You did it!"
Mia laughed. "We did it! Thank you so much! I have no clue what'll happen, but it's going to be so awesome!"
Her mind was already on the letter she would write back. Including a new clip. Perhaps one that'd feature Sally also, to prove her girlfriend was really real.
Besides, Madam Seitz wanted to get to know her, and Sally was a too important part of her life not to introduce.
Oh, this was going to be so great ...
