The kid with the white hair and red eyes always gets picked on. Wait, how many people actually have white hair and red eyes? Well, I can count at least one, unfortunately. Can you guess who? Well, I'm sure you can't, because you can't see me. Ha. Spilled it.

No, I didn't dye my hair. No, I didn't somehow change my eye color. My name is Gavin Shepherd. I was a science experiment a when I was 4 years old. My mom died while giving birth to me. My father took care of me, and tried really hard to teach me to speak. I could walk by the age of 8 months. He wasn't sure why I could barely talk, but when I was nearly 4, I barely could say "I love you" or "Goodnight".

Even now, after the scientists ran tons of tests on me, they're still unsure why a 15 year old can't say more than a sentence at a time. It takes me so long to read my book reports, that we have to entirely miss math class sometimes.

Anyway, my father finally took me to the doctor about my speech. The doctor was confused also, and called someone from a laboratory to meet me. "Hi, Gavin. I've heard that you can't speak very well. Is this true?" The scientist asked. "Ya." I muttered quietly. "Well, your daddy is going to take you to my laboratory so I can run some tests on you. Okay?" He knelt to meet my eyes.

Being only 4 years old, I was scared of most things. I put on a fearful face, bit my lip, and nodded. Half an hour later, my dad was driving me to a medical lab. It was a long ride, so I fell asleep. When I woke up, we were entering the parking lot. Several ladies in long coats and doctor masks came to greet me. They led me into the building, and into a room. I was told to sit on a thing that looked like a table. It had an X-ray like machine above it.

"Okay, Gavin. We're going to draw a bit of blood, and test it. Then, we'll do some other tests." A lady pulled out a syringe, and rubbed some stuff on my arm. The syringe didn't hurt very much, thankfully. Not that my vocal cords could handle me screaming.

Anyway, they ran a few tests, and found out that my muscles were stronger than a normal kid's. They learned that my eyes were slowly turning red. Somehow, they managed to play with my DNA. They found out I had more flaws than strengths, so they rose how much pain I could bear. They made me able to run somewhat faster, and other things like that.

All that messing with my DNA killed the melanin in my hair. In several days, it was as white as chalk.

People took that as a reason to tease me until I knocked their teeth out.
