The Girl on Fire (A Free Verse Inspired by Katniss Everdeen, seen and written throught the eyes of Peeta Mellark) :
Slowly, her strides quickened like prey running from a predator.
As I tried to approach her, I startled her instead.
Golden bees were buzzing and chasing down my allies.
All my team, traitors getting what's coming to them as the bees stungthem, swinging around endlessly and piercing their exposed skin.
But there she stood, stunned and dazed, eyes filled with fears of her old life.
I ran to her, desperately trying to save her life, the one that was ebbing away.
As she finally got the warning, she began to run away.
Majestically running, with her beautiful bow in hand.
Yet again, the Girl on Fire was leaving me, standing dumbstruck by her beauty.
Admiring her every feature as death slowly came my way.
But what came running at my fragile body was a brutal monster who struck his weapon into my thigh.
At death's door, I lay buried in dirt and moss.
Showing the world my final attempt of survival, hiding from the rest of the world and my enemies.
But here she came, almost stepping on my camouflaged face which I twisted into a pearly white grin.
She tried to nurse my fragile leg back to health and cared for me deeply.
But my heart knew for sure that she never did really love me back.
One day it'll come true.
Where our hearts will beat together.
Her and I, Peeta and the Girl on Fire.
