I woke with a yelp when the nightmare was at its climax. Catching my breath, I sat up, holding my heart and feel it going crazy. The dream was a nightmare yet.. It didn't scare me at all. I look at the bedside table clock, its yet to turn to midnight. Standing up, I notice something that wasn't their when I went to bed. My heart which calmed down is now again frantic, a red rose with thorns and a white satin ribbon tied to it was at my bed, just beside me when I was sleeping. I looked around in frenzy, no one was their except for my cat- a black cat with sharp blue eyes- which was sleeping on the foot of my bed just like last night. I picked up the flower with uncertainty, not sure what to make of it. Though my mind is calm, my heart is still frantic. I put the flower in the bed side table and picked up Al, my cat, of the bed and proceeded to the kitchen where I picked u a bowl and milk which I gave to Al.
"Al, did you see that flower?" I asked.
Al just looked at me with his blue eyes, and drank his milk.
"Hm. My heart is frantic, but I wonder why I'm not afraid." I continued, talking to my cat.
Al came and purred at my feet, i laughed and picked him up. Scratching him at the neck, he continued to purr. I wasn't afraid for some unknown reason. So I went back at bed and sleep.
It was morning when i woke up. I got up and was about to hug Al when shock froze me. At the foot of my bed was another gift, a strip of a beautiful blood red satin, worn in the hair. Just like last night my heart was frenzied yet i'm calm. I stood up, not bothering to pick it up and walked to the bathroom to get ready for the day. It was a weekend, no work, so i planned to walk in the park with Al. I found Al on my bed when i finished. Waiting for me.
It's a gloomy day, no
