Do you ever wonder how a couple months can change someone's life? How different your life would have been if you never met a specific person?

Tyler woke up to the shining brightness coming in from his bedroom window. He tried turning away from the light and go back to sleep but he couldn't. He wanted to go back to the beach view and sunset he was dreaming. The vibrant orange and red colors, slowly fading into a dark blue.

He slowly opens his eyes and checked his clock that was sitting in the small drawer next to his bed. It was 8 in the morning. He stretched his arms out and yawned as he got up to take a quick morning shower. He liked taking morning showers, they helped him wake up better and be more aware.

He grabbed a clean white towel from his closet and walked into his private bathroom. Tyler walked inside and took his shirt off. He checked himself out in the mirror. His hands ran down his stomach as he admired his abs. He had been going to the gym for two years now with his best friend Sam. Girls at school always swooned over him but he always rejected them. They were just after him for his body, and he wasn't that type of guy. He wanted to wait for the perfect person. Someone he truly loves, "Love and Lust are two different things." Those words echoed in his head. It was one of the last lessons his father taught him before he passed away.

Tyler took off the rest of his clothes and turned on the faucet. He waited patiently for the water to turn warm and then hopped in. He let the water run down on his body for a while as he felt his muscles relax.

Finally, Summer.

After 9 gruesome months of school, it was finally summer. He was glad to finally be free from the stress. All of the homework, the tests, the projects, essays. It was tough. But now he was able to relax for three whole months. Not having to worry about staying up late for the next day's exam.

Tyler took his time in the shower. He didn't have to rush to get to school on-time anymore.

Tyler turned off the water and dried himself with the towel. He walked into his room with the towel wrapped around his hips. He searched his closet for something good to wear. He put on a white shirt with black jeans and some converse.

He checked his phone to check the time again and saw a text from his mom.

Mom: I have some great news! I'll talk to you at dinner! You are going to love me!!

Tyler scrunched up his eyebrows in confusion, what news could his mom have?

He dismissed the text and opened Facebook, he scrolled down the news feed to see if anything interesting had happened while he was asleep but nothing had caught his eye. He placed his phone in his pocket and ran downstairs to the kitchen. He never really ate breakfast since he didn't want to wake up even earlier for school just to eat something. But now that he has the time, breakfast would be a daily thing for a few months.

He grabbed a bowl and a few fruits. He cut apples into slices and put them into the bowl. Then he pealed a Mango and cut around the shell. He grabbed a few strawberries and cut them in half, placing both the mango and the strawberries into the bowl. He mixed the three fruits and grabbed a vanilla yogurt. This was his breakfast.

Tyler sat down at the table and started eating his fruit. he was halfway done when his twin sister came into the room yawning. Just by the sight of her, you could tell there was a difference between the two siblings. Tyler was clean, groomed and awake. His sister, on the other hand, looked like she had just woken up. Her hair was a mess and her eyes weren't focused.

"Morning sis," He said, taking a spoonful of yogurt.

"Morning... Do you mind sharing the fruit?" She asks as she sits down.

Tyler chuckled and passed her the bowl with the fruit. "Thanks, " she said tiredly as she picked up a strawberry and ate it.

Tyler was the older one of the two by three minutes. He always joked around about it with her, even if she does get annoyed at times.

"So any news? Or are you still my boring brother." She looked up from the bowl and now is looking at Tyler.

"Not really but mom sent me a text telling me that she has good news."

His sister sighed and shook her head. "I wonder what it is this time. Hopefully, it isn't another family reunion, the last one was a disaster."

She stood up and started cleaning the bowl and the other dishes that were left over from yesterday.

"Hey Sarah, what are you planning on doing this summer?" I asked her.

"I'm going to a camp, learn how to shoot an arrow with a bow then fish and do all these other outdoor activities, I think it will be fun," Sarah said now walking out of the kitchen.

"Really? When are you leaving? Cause you know, the sooner the better." Tyler chuckled and she gave him a dirty look as she stopped walking.

"Lucky for you I'm leaving tomorrow and I'm glad it's all summer. I won't have to see you!" Sarah left the room and walked upstairs to her room.

Tyler stood up and threw away the yogurt container. He walked back to his room and walked over to his closet. Tyler grabbed his guitar and walked back to his bed and sat down. Tyler had been playing the guitar since he was 14 years old. He loved playing because it relaxed him and gave him something to do when he was bored. Tyler started to play the song "Hallelujah."

He started playing and then soon enough started singing the lyrics too. Halfway through the song his sister came in and stood at the doorway, leaning against the doorway.

"Tyler I don't get you," she said when the song was over.

"What do you mean?" Tyler asked as he put his guitar on the bed.

"You can play the guitar and you have an amazing voice but you don't want to show it to the world."

"Sarah, this is just a hobby of mine, you know I am not going to pursue a music career so there isn't a point in sharing this to anyone."

"But the only people that have ever heard you sing is me and mom and that is only because we live with you. Not even your best friend Sam has ever heard you sing."

"Sarah just leave this alone. It's pointless to argue about this, you know that I don't sing for anyone."

"Fine, I'm just trying to figure out why."

"There is no 'why' I just don't sing to people."

Sarah rolled her eyes and walked out of the room. Tyler sighed and laid next to the guitar.
