Rule #0056: How To Be Happy
Stop comparing yourself to others.
_______________
Before I add some things to this, I just wanted to say that this advice that I post (mainly the life advice) is just as much for me as for you.
Comparing myself to others is something I've struggled with for a long time and still do, but it's also something that won't benefit me at all with being sure of myself and self-confident. So, whether is be physically, mentally, talent-wise, don't compare yourself to others. Whether your skinny or fat, a beginner writer or a long-time one, what determines whether you're special and good or not---good on the inside or good at doing something---is what you put into yourself.
If you put time into writing, it won't matter who thinks you're as good as anyone or not good as anyone. You're doing what you can to become good and that's so good enough.
And whether you think you're gorgeous or average, chunky or bony, it doesn't matter so long as you're trying to be healthy and---even more importantly---a good person inside.
Basically, you are what you eat, so feed yourself some positivity about whatever you need it for and then give some of that same positivity to someone else who may also need it just as much as you did.
Remember that comparing yourself to someone you think is "better" than you will bring none of that. The choices you make and things you do for others and yourself determine whether you're better than any other person. So if you're anonymously helping out a friend, you're better than that person who's anonymously sending hate because helping is what you're choosing to do.
