I woke up with a jolt and looked at my alarm clock that I forgot to set. 8:19. "Shit! I'm late for work again!" I said to myself quickly getting up. 5 texts from Mary, my best friend, who worked with me at the Baltimore radio station.

"Where are you?"

"You're late"

"Dude are you asleep?"

"Wake up, you're late omg"

"Gonna get your ass fired, wake up!"

Gotta love best friends. I texted her back that I would be there soon and rushed to get ready as quickly as possible.

I finally arrived to work at 8:42 "You're late again" Mary said. I glared at her and she laughed. "Boss wants to talk to us." She said. "Shit I'm so fired." I said.

"Morning Mr. Wellis. Sorry I was late." I said. "What's your excuse this time?" he asked in a stern voice. "I um forgot to set my alarm clock and I overslept." I said. He gave me a disapproving look and I smiled awkwardly. "Well don't let it happen again or you won't be getting this big promotion" he said. "Wait, what big promotion?" Mary asked. I had almost forgotten she was standing with me, she was being so quiet. "A big radio station in London asked me to pick a few people to send over and work there for a few months. I was wondering if you ladies would be interested in the job?" He asked us. "Of course we are!" Mary said. "Definitely!" I said. "Alright, well you leave in two weeks. Don't mess anything up." He said and sent us on our way.
