You felt the wind being knocked out of your lungs in an instant, as you tried to activate your quirk, but all that emerged from your palms was a tiny spurt of water.

"Come on, [Y/N]!" Your training mentor yelled furiously. "Give it your all!!"

You groaned restlessly as you took a few seconds to breathe before taking your fighting stance once more.

Focus, you thought, determined to atleast get a hard, solid punch the annoying, but powerful, midget.

"Show me what 'cha got, girly!" He spat at you from afar.

You closed your eyes and took a deep breath.

You fanned out your finger, and exhaled softly as you felt the familiar itch in the palm of yor hand.

Snapping your eyes open, you shot rushing waves of water at your elf-like mentor.

As usual, it did not phase him one bit.

With a single snap of his fingers, a wall of vines shielded him from your water. He crossed his arms, dissapointedly.

"You've tried the same attack on me for quite some time now," he noted. "What are you, a one trick pony?"

You balled your fists angrily, and in a fit of rage, charged at the rude dwarf.

He delivered a swift kick in your gut, making you writhe in pain, and fall to the hard, muddy ground.

"You should work on your fighting stance, and try to learn more moves with that quirk of yours. A one trick pony won't progress in the hero course." Your mentor lectured. "Now get up."

"I don't wanna." You pouted. He gently kicked your chin.

"Get up." When that failed to work, he kicked you once more, but you wouldn't budge.

Instead, you buried your face in the moist soil in silent protest.

"I SAID GET UP!!" he hollered as he swung his leg at your stomach. Hard.

You hissed, and slowly got up on your feet. "Alright, alright."

You wiped the mud off your face and ran at him, like any other training day.

Your mother tenderly placed a band-aid on you bruise cheek.Letting out an exhausted sigh, you clutched your twisted ankle.

You had pushed your limits just as your mentor had wished, but you sprained your ankle mercilessly in the process.

What's worse, he didn't even have a single scratch!

"You have to be more careful, [Y/N]..." Mom said worriedly, occasionally glancing at your messed up ankle.

Waving your hands reassuringly, you smiled. "It's fine, Mom. It doesn't hurt, see?"

You jumped up quickly, and to your dismay, stumbled onto your hands and feet when a sharp pain shot through your leg.

Mom chuckled softly at your foolishness and helped you off the floor.

You huffed in mock annoyance. "I can stand on my own."

Ignoring your attempt at making her laugh, she cupped your bandaged cheek, gazing into your [e/c] colored eyes. "You really need to be more careful." She mumbles quietly. You looked at her distressed feautures. Her furrowed eyebrows, her big brown eyes full of concern.

You nodded and grabbed her hand and intertwined your fingers with hers. "I'll try."

Your mother smiled gently, and kissed your forehead.

"Im gonna go for a walk, 'kay Mom?"

You slipped on you black ankle brace, then your flip flops, and you were now ready to go out. You were halfway out the door when Mom cleared her throat.

You rolled your eyes, and walked over and gave her a small peck on the cheek.

You took in a salty breath as the wind carrased your tired form.

A walk on the beach has always calmed you anxiety, especially with the stress your mentor was giving you. It also helped with blood circulation.

Recently, though, you haven't had enough time to simply look at the beautiful, once completly trashed, scenery.

They've really cleaned this place up, huh? You thought to yourself.

You kneeled down and gathered some sand in your hands, and let it run between your fingers, smiling to yourself.

Suddenly, a deep, hearty voice interrupted your serene thoughts, followed by a disgruntled scream.

Alarmed by the sudden disturbance in such a secluded place, you ran to the source of the screams.
