Tin's POV

"I also love you, Tin" was what resounded in my head like a piercing sound

I brutally open my eyes to see the same cold ceiling looking down on me. I placed my arm on my forehead trying so hard to grasp the reality. I have been stuck in the same nightmare over and over again, every single night; it was haunting me. I looked around just to see my huge empty dark room. I could only sigh and rubbed away the tiredness of my eyes with my sweating hands.

I picked up my phone from the side bed table and the light from my screen came in hitting me hard in the face. It was two in the morning and I desperately grunt as I place my phone back to its original place. I looked lifelessly at the ceiling and could feel a droplet of sweat sliding from my forehead to the side of my head. I tossed and turned to find the right position but I couldn't find it. 2 a.m. turned into four and I could barely go back to sleep. The vividness of the scenes kept haunting me for years, and I could not escape it.

Before I could realise it, the tortured eternity of my cold room began to get lighter and warmer as the birds started to chirp outside; it was morning. I couldn't sleep a wink. I sighed as I turned off the morning alarm from my phone and sat on my bed. I dug my face in my hands and let out another long sigh.

"Young master, are you already up?" I could hear the voice of my maid as she knocked my door

"Yes" I replied back before getting up and going to my bathroom

After my hot shower, I slowly put my uniform on and grabbed my bag. It was the first day of university and I already feel so lifeless. I opened the door of my room to go down, and to my horror, he was there.

"Good morning" he said with his fake smile again

I didn't reply and went down ahead.

"How rude of you to ignore your beloved brother" he whined as he followed me down

I saw my father sitting on the leather couch with one leg over the other, grabbing his newspaper wide in front of him. To the other side, I saw my mother by the kitchen table, sitting all by herself, drinking her coffee while replying her texts on her phone with her other hand. It was rare to see both my parents being here in the morning, both at the same time. They were so busy that it was practically impossible to have them both together at the same time. But guess today I hit the jackpot.

"Good morning father" I wai-ed to him, no response.

"Good morning father. Have you slept well?" that person said behind me with another doll smile

"Oh good morning. Yes I did" he replied back

Well, it was a usual response from my father who never seemed to acknowledge me.

"Good morning mother" I said as I approached her

"Good morning honey" she replied but didn't even bother to look up

My mother was busy running the business with my father. They were both really busy about work and they were basically never home. I always find the house empty in the morning and even when coming back home. It was something I got used to. It was always my step-brother and I alone with the maids, but I didn't talk to that person properly for years, except when forced to.
