Chapter 3 - I was enchanted by the devil

A heavy silence settled over the room; thicker than the uneasy tension in the atmosphere. Our unsettled eyes glanced unceremoniously around for a while and we tried to avoid catching each other glances that passed by here and there. I cleared my throat and rubbed my head with my hand while looking at Ae who seemed so uncomfortable around me. Ae dropped his bag on the bed and started to shuffle through the things he brought. He was giving me back, but I could feel he was totally not at ease with me in the same room. I felt my heart drop, I don't know why, and then decided to get out of the room while Ae was removing his clothes from his bag. I went directly to the living room.

Pete and Can were sitting on the couch talking and I joined them. We were waiting for the queen to come out of the room and will decide what to do next. It was still 10.30 a.m. and Can was whining about getting hungry and wanting to eat snacks, so we decided to go shopping. There was a 7/11 near my villa and Can was so excited to look around the neighbourhood and so wanted to walk. It was fun.

Upon arriving on the parking lot of the store, Can went running inside like a madman. We all could only laugh to the craziness of this monkey. Ae was laughing and I couldn't not smile a bit, but when I met eyes with Ae, his face was masked with an unpleasing expression. An unsettling feeling began welling inside me, like a storm crushing into my inside. I pretended like it was nothing and entered the shop. Can was rushing through the alleys and looked around to see what can be bought.

I could see Pete's head poking up the alleys way and it made me laugh. I saw someone stopped at the entrance of my section, we looked at each other for few seconds and he slowly walked in when I turned my head pretending to look at something. He was looking at the snacks and he stopped in front of one. He grabbed it in his hand. I keep pretending that I was looking at something on the other side and sneak a peek to what Ae was looking at. It was some snack called Tao Kae Noi. He was picking one and analysing it before putting it back to where it was. He turned around and looked at me because I was close to him. I pretended not to be looking at him.

I walked out the alley and joined Pete in his. He was asking about whether to have some meat or chicken for dinner.

"Tin. Do you think it's better to have chicken or meat for the dinner tonight?" He asked me while showing me both

I leaned close to Pete pretending to be looking at the two.

"Which one do you prefer? I bet you prefer meat" I asked me

"Yes I prefer meat" he said with a smile

"Then meat it is" I said while grabbing the meat and placing it in the basket I was holding.

Can interrupted us and said he wanted to have chicken also. Sighed. What an energy ball he is. Well, it doesn't matter what he wants, I'm fine with anything anyway.

"Why are you two so close to each other?!" Can pointed out

I forgot I was literally on Pete's shoulder. I lifted my head without replying anything.

"I was asking Tin about what to take" Pete replied a bit embarrassed...he was embarrassed?! Why?! Maybe I still have a chance.

We finally bought many snacks, bread, ham, sausages, eggs, mineral water, beers, chicken, meat, and some other things. The monkey and Pete took two plastic bags each and went out while I was paying the bill. The last one to take the plastic bags was Ae who didn't even give me a glance and went outside. I sighed and remembered something, rushed through the alley and pick up what I forgot. After paying the bill, I took the rest of the bags and followed the others outside.

I saw Can and Pete happily talking while they were walking, and that brat was following them with his smile. It pissed me off. They were about 100M away. Ae suddenly stopped and looked down; the two others were so busy talking they didn't even notice as they continued their way to the villa. Ae tried to grab all the bags he had in one hand but couldn't: his hands were too full. As I walked closer, I could see what he was looking at. I smiled.
