Chapter 3No More Demons Today, please. I'm dead tired

Yuuka never understands how actual, legal money can appear in her bank account whenever she finishes the jobs they gave her. The jobs that she does involves the supernatural and she does it for the supernatural. However, she stills get paid with actual human money and maybe she should just let the question unanswered.

What's more confusing to her is they have an actual company on earth. The everything supernatural company have a shipping company as its masquerade. Yuuka will never fail to question their decision but eventually shut up when the secretary told her, "Try and be grateful that we didn't use a food company as a facade."

The disgust from imagining the contamination that could happen if it were to be a food company made Yuuka leave and ever since she never complained. However, the disgust that she feels is embedded in her personality.

And today is no exception.

After the tedious job of rounding up rogue angels, she finally arrives at her apartment lobby. Cursing all the trip up the elevator, she wishes that she never had done such an excellent job with the previous tasks.

"My job is to capture demons and kill them, not be the babysitter for the angels and other creatures. Nobody fucking told me when they read out the goddamn contract," Yuuka complains as she drags her sword, that's beautifully tainted with dried up blood, from the elevator towards her apartment.

The door opens before she could even enter the passcode and there sits Grey, awaiting her return. Without any orders, Grey bites onto the sword and throws it in the direction of her wall of weapons. Centimetres from impact, the sword floats still midair as Yuuka controls it, making Grey look at her questioningly.

She stares at it and her hands still, her mind contemplating whether she wants to clean it right away or do it once she gets some sleep. Turning to look at Grey for opinions, the wolf nods, seemingly wanting her to clean it.

"Maybe I should, or else some crazy asshole would come and want to wipe up these angel blood. I'm already sick of fighting for today..." Yuuka sighs as she starts to move her fingers ever so gently.

The moment she finishes her spell, she goes to the kitchen to get some water while Grey watches the sword being cleaned by itself. "You still like looking at it huh?" she asks with a faint smile, all the while taking a big container of cold water from the fridge.

Grey softly growls as he continues to look at the sword. The now, shiny sword slowly places itself to its designated section but even after that, Grey sit still. The fox's out of norm behaviour causes Yuuka to leave her drink.

Crouching down to look at the sword from Grey's perspective, she gently caresses his fur in the process. Letting out a hum of contemplation, she then sits down on the floor.

"You rarely act like this... Are you feeling sick? I can go out and get some potion for you now," her tone overflowing with worry as she hugs him tightly, despite him being ways bigger than her.

She looks blankly at the floor, whispering assurance to him since he didn't answer her worries. Slowly, the tight embrace she has around him loosens as the minutes' pass. The tiredness of the job finally comes into full effect and she couldn't help but rest against Grey, who continues to stare at the sword.

Not being able to resist the temptation of flying into dreamland, Yuuka's eyes give up on her and shuts close. However, not even making her way through Stage 1 of REM sleep, she falls on her back and with wide eyes, stares at the ceiling.

Turning her head to look at Grey to lightly scold the wolf but the moment she sees him, she feels a surge of tiredness. She notices that his steps were rough, his muscles were tense and his claws became sharper. Not to mention, his growl that can never mean anything good.

She knows what's to come and all she can do is sigh, "Shit."

Pushing herself to stand up. With legs close to giving up, she stretches her limbs and all sorts of cracks and creeks can be heard as if she's an old robot that didn't have been oiled for years. She commands to the angered wolf with an exasperated tone, "Bring it here Grey."

Following her orders, he bites the sword and brings it to her. Lifelessly holding onto the handle, she closes her eyes and took in a few deep breaths. And as she does, vapour begins to form around the sword. The vapour produced came with a death-inviting sweet fragrance that no creature can resist, and that is what Yuuka intended to do.

Angels' blood is sacred and should only remain in an angel's body. However, there will be incidents where it is out of their bodies. And oh boy, when it does, the task of cleaning it would take days, not even the most powerful of potions can remove it. Annoying, on top of having to let it disappear by itself, it easily attracts all kinds of creatures.

For which, now, is a situation Yuuka is facing.

She did not even get a chance to call them out. Because moments after she conjured the blood up as vapour, ghouls, banshees, demons, lost souls—you name it, they're most likely there. All trying to attack Yuuka in attempts to lick even one centimetre of the angel's blood-covered sword.

In a split second, she clenches onto the sword and swung it, spinning around perfectly three times before stabbing the sword into the floor. Taking in a very, very, very deep breath, she pushes the sword deeper as she screams her hearts out.

Flashes of bright yellow accompanied by streaks of white and gold travel from her sword and ripples for as far as there are evil aiming for the blood, vanquishing them all.

And from using up all of her energy, Yuuka feels her head grow heavy and the living room she sees spins around crazily. Grey manages to cushion her as she drops down from absolute drainage of energy.
