"GOOD MORNING!!!!!! RISE AND SHINE SLEEPY HEAD!!!!!"
God, Lily why? Why scream? JUST LET ME SLEEP! Oh right, she isn't a mind reader. "LILY, SHUT UP!!!"
I woke up feeling like I had a hangover. Trust me, I didn't drink anything. I don't even like alcohol. It smells disgusting.
Well, I guess I should get up now. Why sun? I drug myself out of bed reluctantly and put on jeans, a black tank top with a graphic on it, and a denim jacket.
I had slept on a mat last night, maybe that's why I ached so bad. Today was the day, the day we said goodbye to the home we practically grew up in.
Mom had already made a few trips with our stuff to the new house. We didn't have much to take now, just a few small boxes that we fit into the empty seat of the car. We had already said goodbye to any remaining friends we had, and now all that was left was to say our one final goodbye to the home we had loved for so many years. With that final goodbye, we were off on a long car ride. Well, I say "long", but it was only an hour or two.
After that time had passed, we pulled into the driveway of a house with a porch full of boxes. Yep. This was our new house. It was a nice looking house at least, about two story plus the attic and basement with a balcony connecting two rooms up top.
I opened my door and let Sky out of her crate. We walked inside to look around and claim our rooms. We walked in through the back door to find a large open area with stair to one side. This room was huge with tons of windows. A grand balcony was set at the top of the stairs looking out on this room.
The kitchen seemed to be in a corner of the space lined with counters.
Up the stairs, there were four doors, two on each side. The one at the end of the hall to the left was the one I claimed. It was a large room with a walk-in closet, a loft area, and a door to the balcony outside. The door across from my room was the bathroom. It had a large bath tub and a decent shower off to the side. The first room to the right of the stairs was Lily's room. It had built in shelves, a reading nook in the window, and the door of the other end of the balcony. The other room upstairs was Mom's room. It was simple and plain, nothing special, but she was the one who got first pick.
We then went back downstairs and helped unload boxes and furniture. I was especially careful to find my computer and take it to my room carefully.
After lots of unpacking, Mom decided to take us out for dinner, and we got gelato from a little shop in town, afterwards.
The day wasn't too crazy. Nothing really exciting happened. We went back to our new home to sleep on the mattresses, which we had already drug up to our rooms.
I decided not to go to sleep just yet, so I went down stairs to drag my desk upstairs. Once I got it by a plug and set up a power strip, I started to set up my computer. I knew the internet wouldn't be set up for another couple days, but I was pretty sure I could hook it up to my phone's hotspot to play my games for now. After much trial-and-error, I was able to get all the ridiculous amount of chords where I thought they needed to be. It's the moment of truth. I pressed the power buttons on the monitor and pc. They're both lighting up. That's great!
I sighed out of relief and logged into my computer. I messed with the settings a bit so it would work with my hotspot and put in the url for my game. I typed in my username and password and clicked login. You have 1 friend(s) online. I smiled when reading that message.
"Hey, butt."
"Hey, potato."
"I'm not that short!!"
"Lol, hotheaded as always I see. So, how was your day?"
"Lots of packing and unpacking. Just got my computer set up and thought I'd come on to play for a bit."
"So that means you're ready to be my healer?"
"Yep ;3"
We raided dungeons of plenty. Together we were the unstoppable duo! Like Bonnie and Clyde, Sherlock Holmes and Watson, peanut butter and jelly, pineapple and pizza. Ok, maybe not that last one, but you get the point.
"I know it's late. You should probably get some sleep."
"Shoot, 1:40 AM. You're right. That would probably be smart."
"Good night and sweet dreams, Mi'lady."
"As well as to you, my good knight."
We both logged out. I turned off everything and changed into shorts and an oversized t-shirt. Goodnight people.
We had got up expecting to do it again like the day before, but Mom came to us and told us to go out and explore the town. What neither me or Lily realized then was that this would soon seem very familiar.
