I am in a group in my school where we try to make our school a better place. We were brainstorming ideas of what we can do and one person brought up suicide prevention. I started weeping and a girl standing next to me asked me what's wrong. I mumbled out, "I have a friend who tried to commit suicide." She tried to comfort me. Least to say I was all in with suicide prevention.

It started when she seemed silent, and I know she is a shy kid, but around her friends she is all out. But now she barley touched her food, she didn't seem to laugh as much, she seemed distant.
In my fist book I said I talk to my little sibling at night, well I did this night as well. Finally she broke. She told me something I would not guess. My friend had a little sibling and her little sibling had told my little sibling everything that's going on at the house.
My friend had been struggling with depression and she can't be trusted alone at home. She had been suffering in silence. I get she didn't want to spread rumors or drama, but I feel like she could have told me.
My little sibling would keep me updated and I would keep and eye on my friend. I never brought it up, but I felt like I could feel her struggling.
One day she did not go to school. I asked my little sibling and this is what they said, "She tried to commit suicide. She didn't want to harm her self so she didn't use a knife. Instead she planned to take many, many pills. Her little sister was able to stop her and get their parents. She's going to a therapist."
I didn't see her for a week. I was so worried, but when she got back, she was almost as good as new. I wanted to hug her, cry, and tell her I knew. But I didn't.
I never wanted her to think she was pointless. I love her. And I hope she never harms herself again.
