Later that night, Alex was watching tv in her room. Magnus was sleeping in his box when he suddenly got a chill. He woke up and walked over to the bedside. Sat down, and started whining. Alex didn't seem like she saw him. So he started jumping up and down. Up and down, up and down. Again and again.
"Fine." Alex lifted Magnus up and put him on her lap. She was warm and soft. Magnus curled up and fell asleep. Alex didn't notice till he started making a strange noise. A soft whimper, with a moan. Alex looked down and saw the sleeping puppy.
"Uh, funny. Magnus would make that same sound when he's happy. Or staring at me." The room was quiet and Alex was alone with puppy Magnus and her feelings. "I wonder when Magnus is getting back?" Alex looked down at the sleeping puppy and her eyes twinkled. Then she had an idea.
