(Just a warning: I will be ranting a shit ton in this chapter.. I just needed to get this off my chest. If you don't feel like Listening, that's alright :D)
So, I was watching a video by Pyrocynical (did I spell it right?) About how the fortnite community, and fortnite in general, is statistically horrifying.
He made a connection, saying that fortnite is gaining popularity faster than SCP fanfictions.. which I actually laughed at XD
I thought it was funny. It's lighthearted, and he didn't insult the authors of these fanfictions.. however, it actually reminded me of a lot of conflict I've had in the past.
I remember that a lot of people were telling me that I'm stupid, because I write fanfiction. I'm stupid because I like to take my passion for writing, and use it to connect with something I love.. which is just stupid in itself, really.
I feel like people do tend to take certain things too far, though.. as an example, I used to be involved in the Minecraft Story Mode fandom, back when telltale was a thing. I was one of the very few Jessvor shippers.. and I experienced a bit of cyberbullying for it. However, you would not fucking believe how much abuse the luktra shippers endured.
Although I shipped Luktra as well, I was lucky enough to avoid most conflict. However, holy fucking shit, some shippers are really territorial.
I remember in abook completely unrelated to Story Mode, a fan mentioned that they, personally, liked Luktra. They didn't even ship it, they just liked the idea of it... however, the abuse was absolutely hurled at them.
I tried to help, but then people just started hurling abuse at both of us. Although I never personally witnessed it, some of my old internet friends told me that other fans have told them to kill themselves.
So.. that's the main reason I really don't like Minecraft Story Mode anymore. I, and a lot of other people got severely cyber-bullied...
I never sent a single threat. I never threatened to harm anyone.. but honestly, I wanted to punch every single one of those idiots. Who tells people to kill themselves?!
Back to the original topic...
There is a major seperation between my fanfiction, and the SCP universe in general. There is no absolute canon, meaning I can interpret things however I want. However, I'm also a member of the SCP Wiki.. and for personal reasons, I won't be telling anyone who I am on the site.
I'd rather keep my work on the site private and seperate to my work on Wattpad. Wattpad is where I unleash the goofy and funny side of my creativity, blended with the bold and more serious side of my creativity. On the foundation wiki, however, I don't make a habit of joking around.. mainly because I'm relatively new, and don't want to be seen as "that one girl".
I'm getting off topic, though.. in conclusion;
Writing fanfiction doesn't make you dumb. Neither does playing Fortnite, Minecraft Story Mode.. don't let statistics define you!
I'll also be working on chapter 3 tomorrow in class. (During our spare time, though. I'm not one to fool around in class XD)
...
(No, not in that way either!)
Have a good night/day/morning/afternoon/HolyForkingTimeZones...
Toodles!
