"You can do this. Just walk in. Say it. And— I should probably just leave. Ah no, I have to go." I was parked in the same place I was weeks ago when I first came to see Drew. I knew I had to upfront and honest. But I didn't want to be.

Being honest was hard.

"Just breathe. Don't even think about it." I began singing random songs in my head as I got out of my car and walked to his front door.

Just like last time, I didn't bother knocking. I reached for the door handle.

Luckily it was unlocked this time.

"Drew?"

"In the kitchen!" Upon entering the kitchen I saw Drew pulling out lasagna from the oven. Along with green beans. My stomach growled because I hadn't eaten since I was so nervous.

"You shaved...and got a haircut." I noticed and decided that would be the best conversation starter.

"Yeah, Cole told me you were coming so I decided to let go of my caveman phase." I chuckled and for a moment I forgot all about our past.

I cleared my throat.

"Cole told me that you won't stop talking about me. He said that after you heard about Ron and I calling things off that you got hope. He told me I needed to put you out of your misery. That's why I'm here. I want—I need to be honest with you."

Drew set down the food and leaned against the counter. He crossed his arms and I couldn't help but look at his biceps. My eyes quickly flickered up.

"So you've come to 'put me out of my misery' then?" He said in confusion.

"Y-yes. I know you became hopeful. And I-I uh," come on now say it!

"I'm sorry Drew, I just. I don't feel that way about you, not anymore. I came to tell you to move on. We should both move on." I looked around the kitchen but not at him.

"I don't want to move on." His voice confused me. I couldn't sense any anger. I thought he'd be angry.

"And I don't think you do, either." That brought my eyes back down to him. He was walking towards me.

"Yes, I do." I crossed my arms in front of my chest this time. And his eyes flickered across my chest for a second before moving back to my eyes.

"Alright since you're being honest. Why did you call things off with Ron then?" Goddammit. I didn't expect him to ask me questions.

I expected anger and for him to kick me out and say he never wanted to see me again.

I took a deep breath in.

Gotta be honest now.

"I don't love him." I looked down to the floor. I did not want to finish and say that I loved him instead.

"Doesn't look like you're saying the whole truth there, Princess..."

"I love you Alright. There! Are you happy now!"

He blinked a couple of times.

"Well I didnt expect for you to give in so easily. I thought I'd have to seduce you first."

"Well I'm being honest." I scoffed.

"You don't sound too happy about that." He was now standing in front of me. He was half an arms length from me and he was watching me.

"I am not! I'm not okay! I can't love you! I shouldn't love you. You-you kidnapped me! You killed my father! You stalked me for two years while staying in hiding! Only a damn lunatic would love you after that! I don't want to be crazy. Not anymore." I was furious and my heart was pounding.

"Princess. I'm sorry. I'm sorry for all the pain and suffering I have caused you. But I am not sorry for loving you."

"How fûcking cheesy of you, Drew!" It felt like slowly we were getting closer even though neither one of us was moving.

"I love you, Alayna. I have loved you for years and there's no way in hell that I am going to stop loving you. That's a damn promise. And knowing that you love me too, I will fight every damn day to make sure that you continue to love me." I shook my head.

"I DONT WANT TO LOVE YOU DREW!" Tears were clouding my vision. "Don't you get it, I don't want to feel this way. I don't." I kept shaking my head.

"I know baby, I know." His arms wrapped around me.

"I don't deserve you. But I won't stop fighting for you." You've never fought for me.

"I hate you!" I began pounding against his chest. "I hate you. I hate you. I hate your stupid face and everything about you. I hate you!"

He hugged me harder.

"I love you. More and more every day." No you don't.

I somehow pushed away from him.

"You-I—Fûcking hell. I can't think. I can't form a coherent sentence! You fuck me up so much I can't think!" His face was soft as he stared at me.

Damn those puppy dog eyes! Damn it and damn him!

"I hate you so much I love you." I took a step toward him in order to close the small space I had created and reached for his neck. I dragged his head down and finally let our lips meet after what felt like lifetimes.
