DO YOU BELIEVE IN SOUL MATES

"Time to eat, I made it myself I hope you all enjoy." Mantis smiles as she pulled open a chair for Gamora at the small steel table. Peter walked in, eyeing the seat next to the god of thunder, which was about to be taken by Drax. Quill sped up and moved quick to steal the seat, not missing the deceiving smirk that lay on Thors face. Soon enough every seat held a body and there were plates of food in front of every one of them. Peter grabbed on of the fruits on the table, leaning back in his seat slightly as he held it up to his lips to take a bite, savoring the sweet nectar that washed over his taste buds.

His eyes traveled to the man on his side, noticing how Thor was slumped over, going at the soup he had. Peter slowed his chewing as his eyes traveled over the mans biceps, seeing how the shadows from the lights on the gods right side dance on his arms every time he bent the spoon to his lips. Peters own lips parted as he was memerized on the sight, so much he didn't even hear his own small moan leave his throat, causing a few eyes like Rocket and Gamora to trail up to him, while Drax was too busy shoving his face and Mantis was attempting to cool her soup with her lips.

His face grew warm as Thor slowly turned his head, eyebrows furrowed in confusion. Peter let out a huff as he took another bite of his fruit, leaning forward to rest his elbow on his table, and his cheek in his palm as he continued on.

"Peter, do you not like the food? You only seem to like the fruit..." Mantis went on, making Peter rush with guilt.

"No, not at all, you are an amazing cook." Mantis smiled at this. "It's just...I had a lot to eat earlier and I'm just not hungry." He explained, but it was the opposite of true. Peter hadn't eaten since this mornings breakfast, and that was way hours ago. It's just that all of the thoughts rushing through his head about his relationship with Thor had made him more than less hungry.

"You should eat, if you continue like this you'll begin to look sickly." Thor advised, to which Quill rolled his eyes like that.

"I said I'm not hungry." He snapped, making Thor give a heavy sigh, his grip on his spoon tightening. Peter could see that shadows on his arm move, a sign that his muscles had tensed. The annoyance in Peter quickly faded as he felt guilt once more.

Why the hell are you so conceited?

Peters eyebrows curled up and a frown was small on his face. He didn't mean to snap like that, but he can't help his outbursts when he gets annoyed, especially in this position. He swallowed once more, scooting a little forward and to the side, gradually getting closer to the god. He closed his eyes and thought his actions over in his head.

Screw it

His hand shakily rose under the table and set itself on the gods thigh, keeping it there until the god made a move. Thor seemed to calm as he switched his spoon to his right hand and let his previous holder fall under the table.

The two of their hands slowly touched one another, but the two kept their composure and stared at their food. Peters cheeks grew hot as he felt the contact, flinching as he felt a little jolt of electricity emerge from the god, who just sat there with a small smirk from his action. Peter could feel his heart beat clearly through his ears as the two palms curled and their fingers intertwined. All of Peters insecurities began to spike at this.

Are my palms too clamy?

Am I holding his hand too tight?

Is this making him uncomfortable?

He closed his eyes and attempted to clear his mind of negative thoughts. And it was as if Thor noticed this, using his thumb to rub circles on the side of the mans hand to calm him.
