Karitto's P.O.V

It's been several weeks since I first met Sarorah in the woods. I had spent 2 years looking for her yet I had never expected the one I was searching for to be her. I don't even know if that makes any sense.

I sigh internally thinking back to the day that I had finally found the chosen one...

It was a beautiful day with the sun delicately shining through the thick canopy above. I groan to myself throwing my head back and staring at the rays of sun leaking through the leaves as they gently flutter in the breeze.

'I can't believe I still haven't found the chosen one... the saviour.' I thought to myself as I sighed heavily. Feeling exhausted I flopp onto the cool forest floor laying my head on the moist soil. The ground felt cold against the warmth of my fur easing the heat I hadn't noticed I was suffering from.

I roll around letting my body cool down as I appreciate the comfort the pine needles and moss brought to me. Nothing could beat the earthy feeling of the forest floor massaging my back and ruffling my fur. I really needed to relax and try to get my thoughts straight.

I have been frantically running around the United States for 2 years looking for the only person who could save the world as we know it. I was so tired seeing as I've pushed myself well past my physically limit in order to find this chosen one. I am close now though; I can feel their presence stronger here. I'm so close I can almost smell them!

With that thought I got back up on all fours and continued on my way, trudging deeper into the peaceful forest.

'I'm coming for you.' I thought hoping maybe they would here. I didn't know much about this saviour just from what the prophecy of the Ancient Ones foretold. There was to be this mighty saviour who had the strength of 10 wolves and the wisdom of all the past elders guiding them through battle. The chosen one would be sensed by its second in command in a time of great need, in the time that the world was to end.

I shook my head clearing my thoughts of the prophecy. I couldn't believe that I was to be the one to find the chosen one. Why had the moon goddess chosen me? I am one of the last few warriors left of our species but surely my sister would have been the better pick. Either way I must appease the great moon goddess and find the saviour.

A strangely familiar scent pulled me from my thoughts causing me to close my eyes and lift my long snout into the fresh summer breeze. The faint smell was almost intoxicating and I find myself drawn to it, needing to be enveloped in it. The fascinating scent smells of fresh fallen rain and lavender.

Catching more of the beautifully refreshing smell I slowly follow it venturing to the other side of the forest.

Upon almost reaching the origin of where the smell was coming from I hear footsteps. I hurriedly hid behind a tree as to not be seen by the potential threat of what lay ahead. I peer out from behind the skyscraper of an oak tree I hid behind only to be surprised by the sight of a petite human girl trudging along quietly, staring up into the starry night sky.

I was utterly caught by surprise to see a normal girl walking alone by herself this deep into these dangerous woods. I watch the girl from my spot behind the tree. Her long dark brown hair gently wisped in the breeze occasionally blowing into her delicate round face. She had a little button nose that was sprinkled with freckles and her eyes were an icy gray with flecks of blue that almost seem to capture the stars as she continued to gaze into the sky.

Her eyes were mesmerizing, so full of emotion and loneliness. I couldn't bring myself to look away; every stiff muscle in my body tense with anticipation as I thoughtfully stare at the beautiful creature in front of me.
