I wake up in Stella's bed, but no Stella to be found. I stretch out and make my way downstairs, ignoring the elevator. When I reach the kitchen, there's no Stella to be found either. I shrug it off and get a Pop Tart.
A strong smell of ocean fills my nose, along with the ratchet scent of rogue. Crap.
Where are you?' I chant down the link.
'On a run! Don't worry, I won't be long!' She reassures.
'Get back here, NOW! Rogues are attacking!' I order.
I scream when the front door opens, revealing a shirtless man, he has dark, strawberry blonde hair, and his biceps are the size of my head. His six pack glistens in the light from the sun. His scent fills me, rogue, and ocean.
Mate. Lillian shouts. No. No, he can't be. Not a rogue!
He is not a rogue. Lillian scolds. I shake my head at her uselessness and press myself against the wall.
"Mate..." He whispers, "come with me." I cringe back when his hand reaches for me.
"No! No I won't do it!" I shout. "Guards!" I cry. He shakes his head and crouches in front of me.
"The guards can't come right now." He says, and then he presses a rag to my mouth, it burns and I cry in pain. Wolfs bane. He then picks me up and runs, I watch as trees fly past.
Suddenly, a wave of despair fills my chest. Stella. I worm in his grasp to try and get free, but his hold only gets tighter.
"I have—to go back." I seethe.
"No." He seethes back. Suddenly, the rag is on my face again, and darkness consumes me.
When I wake, I'm on a comfortable bed. I open my eyes and survey the room, and then the events that just happened fill my head and I shook up, searching for the door. Just as I find it, it opens, revealing a short girl with red hair to her shoulders.
"Hello, Luna. My name is Abby." She greets. She carries a tray of food to the beside table. "Alpha Mason asked me to take care of you until he's done with his work." I grab her wrist when she went to turn away.
"I want to go home." I plead. "He-he took me. I told him I didn't want to go. Help me, please." I beg. She slowly shakes her head.
"I'm sorry, Luna but I cannot do that. Alpha Mason and Alpha Camryn would feel betrayed." I furrow my brows at her statement. Two Alpha's? I decide to voice my question. "Yes, Alpha Mason and Alpha Camryn are twins, so they both took over the pack." My eyes widen. Twins.
"I-I'm a twin too, that's why I want to go back. My twin sister needs me, Abby." I decide to play with her empathy. If her Alpha's are twins, surely she would feel like I shouldn't be separated from mine.
"I'm sorry, Luna. I really am but I have orders." I sigh in defeat and look out the window. I hear the click of the door and realize I'm alone.
I can't reach Zariah. Lillian tells me. I try reaching Stella through the link, although it's to no avail.
It's the wolf's bane. I inform Lilly. I hear her howl in my mind, and I agree with her. We shouldn't be in this situation.
Three hours of staring out the window, the door opens again to reveal my mate. I scowl at him and look back out the window.
"What is your name?" He quizzes. I don't respond and I hear him let out an aggravated sigh. "My name is Mason. I am Alpha of the Shadow Pack." I've heard little of this pack. The only thing I knew before I came here is that they're generally peaceful. And their Alpha's name isn't Mason, but Camryn.
"I thought the Alpha is Camryn." I inquire.
"The Alpha that the world knows is Camryn. Since we're identical, nobody knows the difference if I go to a meeting." I take a moment to let the information sink in. Our family should've done this.
"Can I go home?" I squeak out. He now lets out a sad sigh.
"No, I can't put my pack in danger like that." He explains.
"It's in danger now." I say simply. I see his built body tense up.
"What do you mean?" He demands.
"They'll come for me." I explain.
"They won't find this place." He assures.
"My twin will." I say sourly. His body tenses again.
"Twin?" He chokes out.
"Yes, my twin sister who will be tearing out the hearts of anyone who comes in between me and her." I threaten. His hands fly to his long hair as he stresses.
"We'll bring her here. That's it!" He concludes. I gape at him.
"You're an idiot if you think you can get in our territory again. After you took me, over half the packs going to be around the boarder." I scoff.
"Who ever said we're going in your territory, mate?" Mason questions. I eye him carefully, sizing him up. He was about three heads taller than me. I then turn away, looking out the window. I hate when he calls me mate.
"Willow." I whisper, almost so quietly it was silent.
"What?" Mason questions.
"My name is Willow."
