Alistair McCoy, you were sent on this ship to find a new planet hospitable for humans. Time is running out, we need you.

Alistair looked around the crude bedroom, everything was grey, and the dim electric lights were oppressive. He looked in the mirror above the wash basin and was impressed to see his face was fairly accurate, the eyes were right and his hair fell in a certain way that only his could.

Satisfied with his appearance, he took the door to his left and found himself in the ships control room. He was met with a gigantic screen which showed three options. Three planets. One red, one yellow, and one blue. Earth was blueish looking, right? He picked that one. Seconds later he was on solid ground.

Taking in his surroundings he found he was in a lush jungle, with plants of all colors stretching up above him as far as the eye could see. There were red trees and purple ferns, and flowers that seemed to give off their own light, illuminating the dark jungle with swirling patterns. This was good, plants meant water. Water meant the survival of the human race.

Checking his compass, Alistair began to walk. It didn't take long before the jungle started to recede, and the plants turned into lush pink grass. Alistair stopped and took in his surroundings, the sky was a golden color, streaked with bronze. Suddenly, he noticed something different, he could hear something, when before there was silence. He could hear running water.

He nearly yelled in joy, this was all he needed. The existence of a planet with water was enough grounds to bring a whole exhibition down here.

Before he could dance and sing in celebration, the ground trembled. He looked behind him to see the shrubbery rustling, the trees waving about as if moved by a great force. But there was no wind.

A T-rex crashed from the undergrowth, its jaws snapping violently. Immediately, everything was red, Alistair had no time to reach for his gun before...

GAME OVER.

Alistair growled and pulled off the gaming helmet with a huff. It had all felt so real, he was sure he could feel the breeze, feel the snap of jaws, he shuddered.

Finding the remote he flicked to the news channel, which was covering a story about the real search for an alternative planet. He got up to make a tea as the reporters talked in depth about the extensive mission to plant a rover on the most recently discovered planet. They were showing the footage that was recovered when Alistair came back to the living room with his tea. He promptly dropped the whole mug on the carpet.

That was his planet, it was unmistakable, the jungle, the golden sky it was all the same.

They would be sending people down soon. But if that was real, it must all have been real. How was this possible?

Then he realized, they didn't know. About the Dinosaurs. They didn't know.

He had to warn them.
