The sunlight seeped through the curtains, enlightening the large bedroom. In the bed was a small child who was busily fast asleep. As soon as the light hit his face, he groaned in annoyance. He reached out for the remote on his bedside table, not trying to knock over anything else. Grabbing the remote, he quickly pointed it at the speakers opposite his room then clicking the button.

Music started playing out of the speakers, specifically hip pop since that was the boy's favourite type of music. With that, he got out his bed, eyes still closed as he danced to the beat. Dancing was this boy's passion as he continued dancing various trends in his dance sequence. He got ready for school in the process, putting on his uniform as he humming to the beat in the kitchen. However, he heard the noise of footsteps coming towards the kitchen. The boy immediately stopped the speakers and quickly sat on the chair.

Through the door came his father. He was a kind and caring person who always wanted the best for his son. He came into the kitchen to see his son, sitting on the chair waiting for him.

"Were you waiting for me Gradient?" he asked softly.

"Yes dad," he sighed. He wanted to listen to music but that was completely forbidden in the house. His father, Ink didn't like any form of dancing, singing or music itself. Gradient never understood why his father had so much hate towards music. He didn't have a mother and asked his father several times but he gave no response. He sighed as his father made breakfast.

"Ready for your first day of school?" Ink asked as he handed Gradient a plate of toast.

"I'm excited," Gradient said cheerfully. Inside, all he wanted was to go and dance where his dad couldn't see him. Hurriedly, he finished his toast and grabbed his shoes. His father had packed his bag and handed it to Gradient, who quickly slung it over his shoulder. Sooner or later, they were out of the house.

Gradient happily jogged to the street as his father followed him behind. They arrived at the bus station where there were several monsters and humans waiting for the bus. Suddenly, Ink realised he forgot to give the keys to the neighbour, Blue. He trusted Blue to look after the keys because Ink worked late and Gradient would come home early from school.

"Hey, Grad. Wait here, I forgot to give the keys to Blue," he said as he paced his walk back to Blue's house. Gradient peeked over until he had lost sight of Ink and pulled out his phone, playing a random song.

Instantaneously he was dancing to the beat, pulling off some tricks or two. In the end, he had attracted a crowd as they watched in awe at the young child's dance moves. Before Gradient could listen to his favourite part of the song, he saw a glimpse of Ink coming back. He quickly fumbled on his phone and turned the music off. He folded his arms in disappointment but didn't show his mood to his father.

"Ok let's go, Grad," he said as they arrived in front of the bus station, just in time for the bus to come. Ink pointed at the bus's number which showed 127. "Grad, this is the bus you should get on when going to school and back home," he said clearly as Gradient took note of it.

As they got on the bus, Ink immediately recognised the driver.

"Hey Dream, can you make sure Grad here gets on the bus to school and back home?" He asked sincerely as the supposed 'Dream' nodded his head in agreement. Gradient went and got the seat by the window, looking out of the glass and at the street. He heard faint music playing in the distance and was tapping his feet to the beat, carefully avoiding his father from seeing.

After a 20 minute journey, they arrived at the school with children already going to their classes. Ink brought Gradient to one of the classes as he carefully knocked at the door. The teacher was heard saying to come in as Ink opened the door to reveal a full class and a teacher already writing stuff on the board.
