Laura's Poetry Corner - Part 2

The Feline Of Fashion Design

She has been told that she resembles her mother
A certain fun-loving cat is her older brother
She does her best to look elegant and neat
She is admired for being thoughtful and sweet
As she wore her best bathing suit on the beach,
She gave something to every plain-bellied sneetch
Each plain-bellied sneetch received a nice shirt,
So that they would not feel like complete dirt

She created a grey waiter's suit for Sam-I-Am
To thank him kindly for green eggs and ham
She made a pretty purple dress for Cindy Lou
And striped scarves for Thing One and Thing Two
She knitted a pair of ruby red socks
For another client known as "Mr. Knox"
Wearing a classy coat on her way to the town,
She gave a stylish brown tuxedo to Mr. Brown

During one whole day of being very, very busy,
She painted PJs pink for Icabod and Izzy
She took four yellow socks out of a small box
And gave them to a friend who was a fox
After calling Mr. Walden on the telephone,
She showed him a black dress for his wife Joan
She even made an orange vest for a wocket
Who was hiding in a little boy's pocket

She sewed numbers into a nightshirt for Ned
For when he counts sheep as he goes to bed
After the golden sun sets all the way down,
She loves to sleep in a white satin nightgown
Her favourite colour is a calming shade of blue
She would be very delighted to meet you
She might make a dress that would sparkle and shine
They call her "The Feline Of Fashion Design"
