Jimin focus

"Why don't you all introduce yourselves? So who've we got?"

Jimin watched from backstage, the small TV set up for him in their dressing room. He frowned, imagining himself sitting next to Namjoon as he often did in interviews, where he belonged.

"Hello, we are... BTS."

No, you're not BTS without all the members, right?

He recalled the moments when recording the latest Bon Voyage, and them saying they weren't whole without all of them there.

Maybe that's only when Taehyung or Yoongi isn't there.

The security guards and other members had had to hold Jimin back, as he barged, or limped, to through the hallways. He didn't want to sit out, his injury wasn't even that bad! Yet, the managers had said he wasn't to perform or even attend the interview.

"Hyung, it's not fair!"

"I know, Jimin. But ARMY will forgive you. It'll be okay."

Even with Namjoon's reassurance, Jimin still hated himself for getting injured.

They went around introducing themselves, starting with Hoseok, and Jimin laughed at Seokjin, who was being extra and making a big show as usual.

"Okay, I see six members but there's supposed to be seven. What happened?"

He frowned again, looking down at his injury in distaste as he listened to the leader explaining in English. It was difficult for him to understand what Namjoon and Graham were saying, but he knew they were discussing him.

"Come on, Jimin. Sorry we don't need you today."

Although his English was limited, he understood enough of the sentence to know what he meant. BTS didn't need him. His family didn't need him.

He felt stupid and worthless as he wiped the tears away, eyes still focusing on the TV in front of him.

As the interview went on, with mentions of Time Magazine and the UN, Jimin's heart felt heavier and he wanted to stop watching. But this was his family and he should be supportive.. even if he wasn't there.

It's like I was never there.

He watched as they were given the shirt, almost giggling at Jungkook's cute excitement.

He's even bowing to her!

They came back into the dressing room momentarily, smiling at him and giving reassuring pats on his back before walking out onto the stage set up for their performance for Idol.

Jungkook sung his parts of the song perfectly, and Taehyung took his centre parts of the choreography. He thought they did it flawlessly, something that he's never achieved himself.

They really don't need me?

They seemed to function just as well as a group, with or without Jimin being there. He felt useless. Maybe all his hard work and improvements were for nothing?

They left the stage, smiling and puffing while walking back to their dressing rooms, expecting to meet Jimin and go home. Apparently they were wrong, when they walked in and looked around the empty room.

"Jimin?"

He was close to the exit now, surprisingly he had made it down the hall with no interruptions, only his injury slowing him down. He cringed as the muscle ached, but continued on anyways, because they didn't need him anyways, right?
