There was blood splattered almost everywhere on the floor, the carpet was soaked in blood as were the man's clothes. Detective Miller had seen a lot of murders in this career but even he felt repulsive while investigating this one. The murder though was not what baffled him, because from the apparent state of the room it was very clear that whoever had murdered this man had come here in search of something. All the cupboards in the room had their doors flung open and the contents of their drawers were all on the floor or hanging out from them. There were a lot of papers lying on the floor and the dead man's desk.
Miller took one and saw that it was covered with some sort of equations and weird drawings and circuit diagrams. Miller never had any interest in mathematics or science during his school days and hence could not make head or tail of the stuff on that paper or any other for that matter. Dr.Selvig  was a professor of electrical engineering at the local college and Miller could not think of any reason as to why would anyone murder Selvig. His best guess was that Selvig was killed by some guy who had entered his house in search of money and had killed the professor when he resisted. That would explain
the ransacked cupboards and drawers .
He knew that his theory seemed a bit far fetched but considering the kind of people living in Hollywood where Selvig lived anything was possible.
Miller sighed and was about to start looking for clues when he heard someone talking behind him. He looked and saw a tall blond man wearing a FBI windbreaker and also a
FBI tag around his neck enter the room. He walked towards Miller and introduced himself as special agent David Richards."I'm taking over the investigation from here, you and your team can now pack up and leave." He
told Miller in a cold voice. The detective protested but was met only with the Fed's menacing gaze. He walked out of the room and saw that the rest of the team was already packing up and leaving. He walked out of the professor's apartment and walked towards his car. He sat in it but couldn't stop thinking that why the hell was the FBI showing so much interest in the death of such an ordinary person who was almost non existent till today. He turned on the ignition and drove away.
