Liam: he knows how seriously you take your education, and it's something he absolutely loves and admires about you. But when finals come around, it scares him. Mostly because you start to lose sleep, your appetite practically disappearing along with your normal routine. He can see you fray at the seams as you try and stretch out the time you have to be able to turn everything on time while acing your tests to keep your scholarship. He tries to sit down with you, brown eyes narrowed with infinite worry but you're just too focused on getting this essay done perfectly that he just gives up with a resigned huff. It drives a rut between the both of you, the loss of communication mixed with the tension. And that just about breaks you finally. He's about to go up to the bed, mad at you for not letting help, when he hears the choked sobs coming from the living room couch. His footsteps are careful, face blank up until he sees you so small and curled into yourself right against the cushions. You'll feel him wrap himself around you and for the first time in a long time you'll let him. Because he's your anchor, and right now all you need is for him to hold you while you figure out the loose pieces of your life. And hold onto you tight he will.
