Stop The Clock

Chapter 1

Selene's POV

"What are you doing?" I ask Bree who is trying to make a hammock for her ferrets out of her older brother's t-shirt and four pieces of rope.

It was late and I was sleeping over Bree's trailer. Her ferrets (cookie and bandit) were running all around the trailer.

She turned to me and I saw that mischievous glint in her light brown eyes and I knew she had a crazy idea.

Bree has light brown eyes, tan skin, and chin length thick red hair. She was in her snowflake pj pants and a blue tank-top. I was just lounging on the couch in my grey pj pants and grey peace tank-top.

"What time is it?" I ask Bree.

She takes a look over at the microwave clock and said "9:30 p.m."

As she picks up bandit, the rope tied to the bathroom doorknob snaps and Bree throws bandit onto the bottom bunk and he landed with a faint squeak.

"Stupid rope!" She muttered.

"Well, are you sure the ferrets want to swing on your brother's sweaty shirt?" I said.

"They probably don't care." she said as she strung up the hammock again.

"There," she breathes. "this should be good. Come here, cookie."

She picks up cookie and places her in the hammock. "Yes! Success!" Bree yells as she swing cookie back and forth.

"Congratulations, you made a ferret hammock that your parents are going make you take down later." I replied.

She stuck out her tongue at me then I asked again "What time is it now?"

Bree looked at the microwave clock with a confused look on her face.

"9:30 p.m. That's weird. I could have sworn at least 10 minutes would have passed."

I looked outside to see the flames in the fire pit have stopped moving. We walked outside and tried to talk to her parents but they seemed frozen in time. All the other fires and campers in Skunk Hollow (this area of the campground) seemed to have stopped moving.

"What's going on?" Bree asked me.

"Well," I said "it seems the world is frozen in time."
